SPEECHLESS SUNDAY: The SANDPOINT calm before the storm.

This is what I saw on my way to Starbucks this morning.  That's Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort in the distance with a skiff of snow showing.  I'm constantly awed by the beauty here in Sandpoint, so I never go anywhere without my camera.  As always, the camera really doesn't do it justice.

It wasn't long after this shot that "the storm" came through and dumped 12" of snow at Schweitzer Mountain.

Sounds like the slopes will be open before Thanksgiving.  Nice shot!

Hi Brian - I've got high hopes for this year.  BTW, my son is down in Boise right now with his soccer team for a weekend tournament.  Have a wonderful Sunday!

That's beautiful.  I'll be out today with my camera here in Florida on the beach and along the rivers, but Idaho is something special.

Hi Alexandria - I just couldn't believe this scene.  That bog is premier moose country.  I drive by this site 10 times a day (it's right by my house).  I'll catch a moose in there soon and post the photo.  They are everywhere.

Yvette & Dennis - Great idea!  We got hit today with a huge storm, but just rain down here in the valley.  20" of snow above 4,000', though.

HI JOSEPH - Still nothing but rain down in the valley...the mountain is getting hit pretty good, though.  I'll get a new shot as soon as we get some snow down here.

That is very nice shot Kent!  You fooled me though, I thought there would be an after the storm photo, too!

Hi Mary - I hear you but the "after storm" photo never materialized.  It still looks the same.  As soon as we get some white stuff, I'll be retaking the shot.  (We've been hit hard up at Schweitzer but not down here in "Moose Country".  Have a great Sunday!
