Lenn - what a great idea!  I showed a property yesterday where the homeowner had raked up all the pine needles and used them as mulch under the trees.  It was quite beautiful.

It does look very peaceful out by the "fence." And, yes, clever approach to pampas grass or whatever they call it.

Here in Connecticut, we don't cut grasses back until very early spring.  The plumes add a nice touch throughout the winter and provide almost year-round interest.  Nice pictures!

Lenn:  Neat idea.  You certainly are a creative gal.  Wish I had a vision, any vision for my yard.  That's my husband's ball of wax.

Lenn, the bundled grass trimmings certainly do add a nice touch to your beautiful surrounding area.

Hi Lenn... this is a great idea and environmentally conscious too!  I have seen clients take plants/flowers and hang them to dry in the sun then use them as decoration in vases in their homes.  Very attractive and much less expensive than buying dried plants at a crafts or hobby store.

Those grasses bundled like that say autumn to a southern girl like me, but what I'm really looking forward to are the pictures of the tulips when they bloom!

Veeeery creative! There is only one time of year in which I don't view my neighbors huge, lovely trees with envy.

Might try some of the ornamental grasses next year for the back- they really add a nice touch. I'm not sure that the deer would leave them alone in the front!

Lenn, I love your idea of creating something out of the tall grass cuttings.  We have the same ornamental grass around our pool pump.  I love them, nice to look at, but a real bite to keep trimmed.  I dread bagging them up and this would be a nice idea for my home as well.  I'll have to do that the next time I attack the "grass monsters" as I so lovingly call them :)
