California Wine Country Grapes by Myrl Jeffcoat

I was in California's Wine Country yesterday.  This morning I was going to present a slide show and narrative.  However, in keeping with the Speechless Sunday theme, I'll keep it brief.  This will also allow me more time to work with the images from my camera.  I will be posting the photos and story tomorrow for the ActiveRain Photo Blogger Group.  So stay tuned!

I take pictures for the purpose of remembering fond times.  I do not impose copyright restrictions on this photo, so you may feel free to use, or distribute as you wish.  However, should you need a Real Estate Professional in the Greater Sacramento area, I hope that you will contact me by email or by visiting my website www.myrljeffcoat.com - Thank You!

Hey Paul, if you wanna grab a cab at 5:00 am, I don't judge:-)  As it turns out, I had a similar experience yesterday.  I couldn't sleep much Friday night for one reason or another.  So, while rereading some of John Steinbeck's passages, I decided to head over to his Valley of the Moon (Wine Country).  I was out the door quite early!

Myrl, Just love the picture. I was in the California wine country about 25 years ago. Seeing your picture reminds me I really need to go back. Thanks for sharing Barbara

Great picture, Myrl.  I like how you captured some of the leaves as well.  Those grapes have such a distinctive color.  Will you be posting those photos tomorrow to your new Photos group as well?

Love it Myrl.  On the vine or in the bottle, it's all good!  Have a great day.

Barbara - Each time I go, I see so much that seems new and different.  I think it's time for you to return!

Charles - I feel lucky that each time I think it's time to spend a tank of gas, that I can point my steering wheel in most any direction and get there and back from Sacramento.  I'm a the very hub and so much delight. . .Gold Country - Wine Country - San Francisco - California Coast - Lake Tahoe, etc. . .What's not to love!

Gary - It's good to hear from you, I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend as well!

Toula - I'm glad you like 'em!  I can imagine that you are enjoying wonderful views in your area as well.

Janet - I have a Canon SX200 12.1 megapixel with 12X zoom.  I'm having a love hate relationship with it, because it has no view finder.  When the sun is bright, I have difficulty seeing the image on the LCD screen.  I plan on getting an SLR camera after the new year, and seem to be focusing on a Nikon D90.

Peggy - There are so many beautiful places on the globe.  I wouldn't have difficulty living in many of them:-)

Pat - Grab that camera and show us what you get:-)

Jennifer - You get nice results with your camera!  Thanks for telling me!

Yes, I will also be crossposting the pictures to my Photos group tomorrow.

Kevin - Too true. . .It's ALL GOOD!

John - My family says I have itchy feet.  I can wake up early in the morning, and be out the door faster than a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest.

Kryste - It was a spectacular day in Wine Country yesterday.  The fall colors were amazing.  They also had a Jazz and Blues Festival going on in Calistoga.

John and Kevin - I meant to tell you, I have no idea what variety of grapes those were.  Hopefully, something to make a great Gamay Beaujolais, Pinor Noir, or Cabernet Sauvignon.

Myrl,

Your great photo brought to mind the Lucille Ball episode where she was stomping grapes. I checked on YouTube and sure enough, it was there. Thanks for the reminder, I had a great laugh rewatching the episode. All because of your grape photo.

Richard -Without a doubt the episode of I Love Lucy, that you refer to is my favorite!  By the way, I actually tried that grape stomping trick. . .It's not all that it's cracked up to be.  There are acids and tannins in grapes that make you feel like your feet are on fire after stomping just a short while.  I'm shocked that they didn't cover that risk in the bible:-)

Hello Mryl, oh boy has your photograph struck a cord with me...I love wine! What a great photo of grapes you captured with the texture of the woody vine, the colorful leaves and those dusky looking blue grapes! Yum :)

Steven and Marti - Yes, that picture presented a Welch's Grape Juice moment:-)

Leilani - It seemed that most of the grapes had been harvested - but there were still a number of vines with these beauties still in place.
