Hi Dinah - Great blog! If only somes eyes will be opened. I can easily see a slight change from: "On the surface it never looks bad. The intentions were never evil." As at this time it DOES look bad. Also, obama's intentions ARE evil.
John. I appreciate your comments. I think we agree on many levels. However I think Evil in this case is a result of good intentions gone wrong. I do not think anyone wakes up trying to destroy our nation. They wake up hoping to make the world a better place and compromise their values. At first I do not even think they realize the path they are on. After treading down the coursethey encounter the truth but it is too late. They have made choices that forced them into other choices that essentially eliminates choice all together.
If Hitler, Stalin, and Lennon had shown their true colors up front no one would have followed them. It sounds idealistic on the surface and results in the destruction of hope.
After all isn't life liberty and the pursuit of happiness something we all strive for. Without hope we have no reason to try.
Dinah - too many people forget that facism, especially Italian facism under Mussolini, is also a very socialist economic philosophy. We are treading our way somewhere between a communist and facist form of socialism. Regardless, the result will be a loss of freedoms and incentives to excell, guarenteed to turn this once grand country into just a mediocre & effete presence in the world.
Yawn...
Dinah, many people forget that SOME early America WAS socialist. It was a complete failure. More than one colony tried to run a co-op type system that allowed people to give and take as they needed. What they found was that it led to laziness and that the entire colony nearly starved as those that took outnumbered those that produced.
Your example of an A given by a teacher no matter the effort is perfect. Eventually no one would be qualified to teach and eventually no one will be earning enough "wealth" so support people who don't "earn" any. My plan at this point is never vote for an incumbant again. I didn't vote for this "change" but it looks like it's being shoved down my throat.
Hi Dinah, great topic with the turbulent political winds around us these days. Many don't understand the pitfalls of a socialistic economic system. Competition can be brutal in comparison sometimes but it usually brings out the best products and services for the masses. Political type posts take courage to write so I admire you for that, as I am sure you will get your share of dissenters too. Hopefully all polite discourse.
Well done. I hate to think what things are going to look like in 20 years.
We have been heading in that direction even before The Admin kicked it into high gear. We have way to many give way programs. No wonder more and more people want to come here...they don't have to work.
It's so obvious that Obama is such a socialist. Too bad the "free thinking" ways of the democrats don't get it.....
Larry you said it... "free" thinking. Everyone one wants something for nothing. Since when has that ever worked?
Dinah- Excellent post. There do seem to be many who either do not get it or really want socialism.
Dinah- I reblogged this. It is a good post and needs to be seen by more.
Here is a little bit better analogy of the teacher and the grade...
Test is given and grades ranged from 50-100. The teacher then says that those who earned over a 70 will be donating their extra points to the point pool to help bring up the people who were in that 50-70 range.
So you worked hard, got a 100 but were given a 70. The guy next to you didn't study, got a 50 and was still given a 70. This is the true essence of everyone according to their ability, everyone according to their need.
All students produced the sum total of the grade points and the "extra" points were spread around to make sure everyone in the class was able to "pass". So what is so bad that EVERYONE is able to pass? Because it's human nature to want to achieve more...unless achieving more doesn't hold any value. What is the incentive for the guys in the 50-70 range to EVER study? What is the incentive for achievers (70-100 range) to put the effort and excell?
Ron I think you had a much better example. I wish it were not so darn accurate!-Dinah Lee
Great post and great comments! Enjoyed the read! Teresa
