Monika McGillicuddyI had to laugh when my wife Monika was setting up showings and on one of her phone calls an agent asked her, are you "The Monika McGillicuddy".

When Monika told me this I cracked up and we had a good chuckle.

I guess the agent had Monika as one of her instructors and was really impressed with the way Monika kept her attention and she really enjoyed the class.

I think sometimes when agents turn educators they become bigger than life to new agents entering the business.

As it seems with this agent anyways.

I know when I first became an agent I really was impressed with a few of the instructors that taught me. I still to this day appreciate their efforts and their willingness to keep us all informed even if they get paid to do it.

Education is the key to success. I really feel that educating yourself above and beyond the required state statutes will help you, your customers and clients.

So, I just wanted to CONGRATULATE my wife Monika on doing a great job in educating and leaving her mark on the REALTORS® here in New Hampshire and for just being "The Monika McGillicuddy"

Nice.

I took an all day course for Legal Updates, Fair Housing and Ethics last month and the instructor asked why I was there.  They knew I had taken the same course 6 months earlier.

"Just keeping up, I said, Just keeping up."

If there's anything new on those three subjects I want to be UP.

Education is the key.  I admire the dedication of the instructors.  I used to do post-licensing training for new agents with a big brokerage.  It surely wasn't for the money.

Moni, not this time... LOL

Lenn, I take calls from agents that need to renew their license in a week and they need to take a class "RIGHT AWAY". We have 9 hours of continuing education every two yrs. and agents still wait until the very last minute to renew.  It simply amazes me. Thank you for commenting.

Jay - how sweet you are!

Many years ago, I had a showing on one of my listings with the person who was the Board President at the time.  I remember being very intimated that THE president of my Board was actually out showing property herself.  How funny that was, especially since I became Board President just a few years later myself.  But that memory and that feeling has never left me - I think of it often when I show property with her still to this day.  I just chuckle silently to myself.  I can surely understand a new/newer agent having that reaction to a call from Monika to set up a showing.

Sweet post!  ;-)

Jay, looks like you still have it after all these years.  It is great to see a husband appreciate his wife like you do Monika and not be afraid to show it publicly, which is something that most of us men have a problem doing.

Thanks Ann, I too enjoy hearing stories like yours. I can remember my board orientation and listening to the instructors in awe of them. Now they are good friends of mine and I look at them completely different than back then.

Ann, yes Moni is bigger than life and I do love looking at that photo.

Leigh, she has become very popular here in NH as an instructor and I am very proud of her. She works extremely hard.

Ann, I am sure Bear is crying for the Yankees are in third place 11 games behind the Sox.

Ines, thank you..

George, This is not the Yankees year. Especially losing to Baltimore.

Mariana, thanks, I did think it was hilarious that someone would say that to her.

Jay and Monika, What a wonderful way to show respect and admiration for each other.

Education is what makes the difference. I have become dear friends with my first instructor, Anne Hruby,  whose core values and knowledge was, and still is, so impressive.

Congratulations to you JAY and THE Monica for sharing your inspiration.

Instructors are imporant to education!  A good instructor always keeps the attention of the students...thanks Monika for taking your time and effort to teach!  And regarding Jay's reply about 9 hours of CE every 2 years...that's STUPID...Realtors need to lobby together fo more required education!  In NV it's 24 I think...I always have it done 2 years before so I can work on designation classes and non-required classes.  People wait until the last minute here too...and you can always tell when it's near the end of the month as there are tons of agents in CE classes trying to meet the deadline.
