My owner is a Realtor with Century 21 Award in San Diego. If you enjoy flying, and you're flying into San Diego for the 2009 National Association of Realtors Convention (or any other time, too), sit on the left side of the plane in a window seat. You won't be disappointed.

Personally I like the night flights, but the day flights won't disappoint either.

If you don't like flying, sit on the right side of the plane in a non-window seat, and maybe take your eyeshades with you, or just pull the airplane window shade down and close your eyes. That's about all I can do for you.

On the left side of the plane, you'll see lots of freeways, Mexico, downtown San Diego -- don't worry, the skyscrapers aren't in the landing path -- possibly the U.S.S. Midway and maybe a cruise ship or two, the Coronado Bridge, San Diego Harbor, and lots of sailboats. On the right side of the plane, you'll see residential areas, the huge Navy Hospital, and Balboa Park, from where the picture below was taken.

And don't worry. Even though it looks like you're flying in between skyscrapers at a couple of hundred miles per hour, San Diego International Airport continually ranks among the safest in the nation. At least that's what they tell me.

Jim, wish I was going, but that was not to be. I hate flying, always have. But I stick my nose to the window no matter what. Let me rephrase, I hate taking off....

The picture of the plane is cool!

I was wondering what that was about!  It really does make a difference which side you sit on and hopefully it's not right over the wing if you want to enjoy the views.

Thanks for the tip! I always wondered where to find out info like this (which side of plane is best for different trips).

Cool.  As usual.  Not to be for me either.  Lots of work to do here at home.  Besides, I can't wait to listen in.... lots of moles at the meetins.

Hi Jim ~ Cute post, I too was wondering what you were setting up. Interesting photo. (Actually photos, the one of your cat is interesting too).

Jim,

How funny! Great post. And great airplane seating ideas. Thanks for taking the time to share this with all of us!

Hey, Andrea - I can do taking off much better than landing. Not sure why. The cruising part of the flight I really like.

Hey, Silvia - Even if you were to sit right over the wing, you could see San Diego when flying in because the airport is right in the middle of downtown.

Hey, Michelle - That's always been my priority, too, right after making sure that I had a window seat.

Hey, Suzanne - I didn't hear from anyone other than Robin Rogers, and so far I haven't seen too many blog posts at ActiveRain, so I'm wondering just how many people were at the convention and how many ActiveRain members made the trip.

Hey, Denise - We now have thousands of photos of Zoey the Cool Cat over the 26 months we've had her. Many are not your traditional pictures.

Hey, Ann - I wish I had some pictures but I didn't make the convention myself since I was showing properties to a couple of Clients and writing purchase offers. We're still haggling over the purchase offers, although it looks like one is dead and I'll be back showing properties again soon.

Hey, Carra - Sorry you won't be making it. There are so many ActiveRain members whom I would love to meet.
