Watching and nurturing your business can have a sweet reward.  But it won't happen unless you pay close attention to what you need to tweak your plan and keep it running smoothly.  If you are inconsistent or just plain ignore an important piece of your plan - it could explode right in front of your face.

Much like this very special pie.  BANOFFEE PIE.

Banoffee Pie Ingredients

The interesting thing about this pie is its preparation.

You place the sealed can of sweetened condensed milk in a sauce pan, cover it with water and boil it for 3 hours on the stove.  You must watch it closely to make sure the sauce pan doesn't boil dry - or the can will explode and you'll have a sticky mess all over.  You must tend to the sauce pan, adding water constantly.  Once the 3 hours has elapsed, you remove the can and let it cool a bit.  When you open the can - your reward is a carmelized custard, ready to pour over the bananas you've sliced in your graham cracker crust.  Once it cools a bit in the fridge, you can top with the Cool Whip.

How can I resist trying this?  What a clever way to present something short and sweet.

I love the preparation instructions for this Banoffee Pie, Susan...I'll have to make this! I thought it would be banana-coffee from the name, btw! :)

Leilani - I didn't even think of that! :)  But it's because I picture the toffe-ness of the pie.

Debra - Thanks.  That analogy works with everything in life...might be developed into a broader blog post.

This pie is my dau-in-laws holiday specialty. I'm always afraid the can will explode!

Pat, I worried about that the first few times (and believe me the water got very low a few times) but it always worked out.  LOL.
