Don’t say the T Word!

We had about 17 wild turkeys in our backyard in Timber Greens-New Port Richey, FL the other day (well, really they were on the golf course which is our backyard). They were a'gobbling and a'squawking, and showing off their tail feathers (the guys, of course); the gals just ignored them.

Suddenly, they were running.......

Did someone say the T word?

Hey Dana, we have deer in our back yard too. I'll have to blog about those sometime; got lots of pictures! Also, got hawks, and all kinds of beautiful birds.

Douglas: that sounds good too.

Toni - I live near the American River and the Bike Trails.  There is a "herd" of wild turkeys in the area.  I always find it so awesome that I live in a subdivision and can go over a couple blocks, see the river, the wildlife, and the turkeys.  We have a large population of deer there too.  Those are nifty pictures you have posted!

Toni, that is a great photo, we have a lot of Turkeys here, some of them are nearly tame.  It is still cool to see them.

Thanksgiving is coming.  Will they be making themselves look very small.  I once played golf in Dehli, India and they had peacocks running around the golf course. It was fun!

Janet: the beach photo was taken at Melbourne Beach, FL where we have property. You can't see the pelican in the middle of the picture.

Gene: I'm sure you'll see some soon. When you see one; there's always lots more.

Tony & Darcy: Yes, it is cool to see them; they are such clowns!

Marcia: I think they look skinnier as T day draws nearer. I love peacocks; we saw many when we visited Mexico. The white ones are gorgeous.

Kathy,

Last winter we had 32 of them out there. I guess that was after the mating and birthing season! They are kind of skinny; not like the ones in the supermarket so the drumstick might just be a snack :)
