Down at the very south east corner of Pennsylvania, Landenberg, PA is a beautiful array of rolling Chester County hills still rich with lots of farmland and also the White Clay Creek Preserve. It is bordered by Maryland to the south and Delaware to the east and very close to Newark and Hockessin, Delaware. This was part of the land inhabited by the Lenape Indians and many of the windy roads were originally deer trails. Some of the historical landmarks are the tiny town center comprised of the Landenberg Store, church and apartments. The Landenberg bridge which is also a historical site was closed by PENNDOT in 1999 because of deterioration. It has been closed ever since and was a big topic for controversy. Plans to widen it were met with much opposition from the locals, but after a decade it is finally under construction and some of the original structure is to be saved.

Landenberg, PA is a great place to live because of the desirable country atmosphere and also the proximity to lots of area conveniences. Many people commute to work from here to Wilmington, Newark and Philadelphia. The countryside is dotted with subdivisions, many of them recently built. Real estate is moderate to quite pricey in the Landenberg area. There is a wide variety, some are tract subdivision homes, some custom subdivisions and also more secluded non-development homes. Now is a great time if you are thinking of a move to the area. Prices are deflated and interest rates are at all time lows, not to mention the new tax credits that are available to many.

There are some nice places to stay right here including the Cornerstone Bed and Breakfast Inn. Take some time and visit the beautiful White Clay Creek Preserve. It's a beautiful 1255 acre tract of land that was donated by the duPont Company with intentions of preserving the natural habitat and the beauty of the area. There was also another adjoining 3,000 plus acre tract over the Delaware border that was dontated by the duPont Company. There are walking trails and markers, it's a relaxing way to spend a day in Landenberg, PA.
