Making the Most of ActiveRain: A 6-Part Series for Newbies (Part 1)

www.PhoenixPropertyShoppe.com

Just Do It! Yes - Nike coined it, but I'm repeating it. The very first thing you need to learn about blogging on ActiveRain is that you just need to get started. Yes, it will be confusing. Yes, there's a lot to learn. Yes, you will probably stumble and occasionally fall. Yes, you will get back up, and you will keep blogging. But if you just do it and do it and do it again, sooner than later you will catch on and you will start to enjoy blogging and all the fun and benefits that come with it.

I've begun teaching ActiveRain workshops around my community, and one of the biggest challenges for me is the resistance to participating, even as I share all the positives benefits with these agents and affiliates. They say things like, "Yeah, yeah, yeah. It works for you, but you're already established," or "It's just too much work," or "I'm too busy," or whatever other excuse they have.

Let me tell you right here and right now: Succeeding at ActiveRain will take work. Succeeding at ActiveRain will take a commitment. Succeeding at ActiveRain will take time. But when you succeed at ActiveRain, the benefits will so far outweigh all of the drawbacks that there's just no way to justify not getting involved.

Here are just a few of the benefits of jumping in with both feet:

  1. It gives you an easy and inexpensive way to provide information and knowledge about the Real Estate industry in your local area. This will enhance your credibility with prospective clients and establish you as an expert.

  2. Great "Google juice" helps you generate and capture new leads. With more than 164,000 people blogging on one general topic (real estate), ActiveRain blogs achieve amazing SEO - especially for LOCAL info. This is a HUGE benefit. The stellar search results mean that the public - your potential customers - often finds ActiveRain posts when they begin their online real estate searches.

  3. ActiveRain has a Members Only blog where you can post "insider" questions, topics, and discussions that are open to collaboration and/or critique from other real estate professionals. This fosters fantastic community discussion, growth, and both business and personal development.

  4. Enables you to establish great relationships with others in the real estate industry. A big bonus is the ability to both refer business and receive referrals from agents in other parts of the country. Blogging, like other social media, is really all about creating relationships with your readers.

So stop thinking about it. You're already a member or you wouldn't be reading this. Just do it - NOW. Get involved. Become a Rainmaker on Active Rain!  Start posting. Learn to love to play in the rain! And if you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask. That's why we're here. Trust me - I was where you are once. It gets easier and all the myriad returns are so well worth it! Give me a call, email or stop on by my office.  I'm more than happy to share what I've learned so far on Active Rain.  And....there is lots more to follow! Become a Rainmaker today!

Many decades ago, I had a consulting Client who's favorite phrase was "That sounds like an excuse." Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway, he didn't like excuses. Just do it!

Best wishes!
