Veterans Day  is November 11th, 2009, this Wednesday. The other night I was watching another Ken Burn special on PBS entitled "The War" A phenomenal documentary following World War II and the people, the Veterans day in the Waukesha County real estate marketsoldiers, the world. There really isn't a day that goes by when I don't thank my lucky stars for having the privilege and honor of living in theVeterans day in the Waukesha County real estate market greatest country in the world, the United States. In the Waukesha County real estate market and the rest of Wisconsin, and the United States people know that freedom came with a price, a commitment, and a sacrifice.Whether you are a veteran from World War II, Vietnam, the Gulf War, the Nicaraguan war, and any war or conflict for that matter I thank you for allowing me to have the freedom I do have, and the ability to walk, talk, and interact in a country where other countries may not be so entitled to these same privileges. To all the veterans alive, who have served, and to all that gave their life so unselfishly so I can live the life I want, where I want, I sincerely say Thank you, thank you very much." Have a wonderful Veterans Day. For a definition and origin of Veterans day see Veterans Day

Tom, I am always reading and still learning about WWII.  I think I would have loved that documentary.

Very beautiful tribute for Veterans!  My grandfather was WWII and my dad was VietNam.  My brother in law was a Marine stationed at 8th and I on 9/11 so he had to take care of  the carnage from the pentagon.

Hats off to my family members and ALL VETERANS of war to do what they do!

Is that the same grandfather you did the tribute to not too long ago that pasted away? That was a great tribute. Freedom isn't free, and it never should be misconstrued that it is. A lot of blood, faith, and determination went into making this country. This is a magnificent country we live in.

Hi Tom, this was a very nice post and I for one appreciate that wrote this. Somehow., it seems over the years that our VETERANS have been taken for granted. The flag in my yard flies high in honor of theses amazing people who for better or worse are there and so many given all.

The older I get the more emotional I get remembering the friends that did not return with me. All the lives lost makes me wonder if it is all worth it.

Tom - this is such a beautiful and significant post!  Thanks so much for taking the time to remind us all that we need to remember our Veterans - both those that are near and dear to us and those that we don't know their names......

It seems like everyday our civil liberties get challenged and I hope the day does not come where some the basic freedoms we have like walking and talking to who we want get challenged. Veterans can never be thanked enough.

Lars has a close bound with many; they know him by name when he sees them and spends time with them.

When I see a young person in uniform, or the older veteran it still hits home reminding me that people I do not even know protect me.
