Veterans Day Is A Day To Fly Old Glory

Today is Veterans Day...thanks to all our veterans for their service to our country!

The flag is flying on homes and business' often now. Many buildings never take them down. If the flag is to be left up after dark it is to be illuminated. When being replaced there is a specific means of disposal that few business or homeowners are aware of. Please do not throw a flag in the trash! Call a local veterans organization. They will inform you where to take it for proper disposal. Often the organizations hold them and once or twice a year properly destroy them.

Dates to be sure to fly Old Glory are:

Feb 15 - Presidents Day                       May 8 -  VE Day                May 15 - Armed Forces Day

May 31 - Memorial Day Observed         June 14 - Flag Day            July 4 - Independence Day

July 27 -  National Korean War Veterans Armistace Day                 Sept 2 - VJ Day

Sept 6 - Labor Day                            Sept 11 Patriot Day            Sept 17 POW/MIA RECOGNITION DAY

Nov 2 - Electoin Day                           Nov 11 Veterans Day         December 7 - Pear Harbor Day
