As the member of a Military family... I can say...... "Amen" to your  post, Debbie.....A LOT of people lost buddies and family members in places unknown to us.

My dad actually had a friend of his get killed on a ship he was stationed with in the Navy, during the Korean War.

He only talked about it ONCE...... and painfully at that...... it had happened MANY years ago, but the memory

to my dad was STILL fresh in his mind and heart.

War is not a good thing and should always be a last resort...

Debbie, I'm glad at least we have one day to honor all our men and women who have served and are still serving. I hope we remember to thank them any time we see them too.  Such a high price to be paid for freedom.

Thank you everyone for your comments. I tear up so easily when I think of the military men and women who have served this great country. Thank you for your service Alex, many people in my family served in WWII, my dad in Korea and my niece now. We need to support and pray for their safety. Thank you!
