How bad has it gotten when you receive inquiries from a squirrel to your whereabouts. A pretend squirrel. Named Nutsy.

Wouldn't you agree the name says it all? Yep, that's some bad fur Nutsy!

Or maybe.... The squirrel is real and Steven Smith is the alter ego. For that matter maybe Charles Buell is Nutsy's alter ego #2. After all, I've never laid eyes on Seattle's Home Inspector or The King of The House.

And how about James Quarello? Alter ego #3 hiding in Connecticut?

Or have I been apart from Active Rain for too long? Man I got the flu a-g-a-i-n and then gave it to my husband who never gets sick. But that's the bad news. There's good news too.

Do you remember that three of our four daughters are pregnant. All boys. The one daughter having twins has made it to 35 weeks. The boys are each almost 6 pounds. How crazy is that. We are predicting a big Thanksgiving celebration!

And I'm in the middle of overhauling Get-Your-Best-Mortgage-Rate my mortgage informational site. Are you familiar with cascade style sheets - CSS? This site will show off a new look on the outside and speak the language of CSS on the inside in a couple of months.

So I've begun stripping the outdated code (thank you W3 schools for deciding what stays and what has to go in the world of web pages, arghhhh) and preparing each and every of my 500 pages for the Big Switcheroo.

But I'm here. (In fact I had to take a quick flic with my phone -not easy to do you know- and post it here because of CB's comment on my appearance perhaps being altered by the flu, or not, or some such nonsense.)

Anyway... I'm reading your posts on AR even if you haven't heard from me. And thanks to those who have taken me up on free advertising at my mortgage directory and real estate directory. I'm getting those requests finished today!

Special thanks to Sue Therriault. I'm lucky to have an Active Rain buddy like Suesan to look in on me. Hi Sue!

Kate - Can't wait to see the updated website. I'm sure it will be even better than before; and before was great!

John, Thanks. :) In spite of complaining about W3 schools, I know it is time. The code was getting bloated. Besides, you know how website fashions change and I do not want to get caught wearing yesterday's outfit. Kate

I was wondering where you were.  Good luck with the website.  It looks pretty good already.  Can't wait to see it when it's finished.  Congratulations on the forthcoming brood and glad you are feeling better.

Kate - welcome back! I really missed you and was really starting to worry about you. Sorry to hear you had the flu, but I'm glad you're over the worst of it.

It great to hear the news about the twins, a big Thanksgiving celebration it will be for sure Kate. Holiday babies, what can possibly be better than that? Hey, I got to run off for a while, it's Veteran Day and we're having a few people over, but I'll catch you with you later. Oh and thank you so much for mentioning me in your post.

I appreciated your email, Sue! Feels so good to feel good. When our girls were little, I shared in their sniffles - even got chicken pox with them. Now the sharing seems to be repeating with the grandkids. What can I say? My immune system is a little too hospitable. :)

The twins are very in sync with each other. Only 2 ounces apart in weight since the first time they estimated their weight.

Dear Mrs Kate,

I am so pleased to see that you are still alive. I had been speculating that you had cashed in your chips, but then again, I did not want to announce that without at least checking the facts. It is good to have you back and to know that there is still a foil for me to use to prove my superiorist intelligince. I will put on my February outfit early as a salute to your survival.

Kate, I'm glad you are on the mend and how VERY COOL that you have three girls all pregnant at the same time.

I am somewhat familiar with CSS but would like to learn more.  I write my original website using HTML.  It is a content only site as putting pictures on was beyond my capabilities although I'm getting a better understanding.

Kate:  Babies are always the best gifts ... but never more so than during the holidays!  What fun you will have this year and in the future!  Now ... you have to be all well for the holidays.  So take care and get rested up.  You're going to need your strength ... and energy!

Looking forward to the update site ... and pics of all those grandbabies ...

Hi Kate. I have been away myself, but for some fun in the sun with my wife and two little girls. The squirrel was checking on me as well.

Those are big twins! You will have a house full for the holidays. Good for you.

Mrs Kate,

I have very funny joke:

"If Mrs Kate did not hangout with swine, like Mr Charles and Mr Quintarillo, she would not have gotten the hog flew. Is that histarical or what? "

Nutzy, You wouldn't know a fact if it hit you in the mange.

Charles, If only he'd aim between the eyes.

Marchel, The oldest daughter did not join in this time. The (final?) count will be two kids per family except the youngest who will have 3 by spring. :)

I love how many sites you have. I have visited them all and they are impressive.

Esko, Yep editing until some days I can't see straight. But I love building sites.

Gene, I just took one granddaughter back to the canyon and we sat in the sun and talked. She told me some pretty funny stories about her parents. Now she is probably telling stories about Grandma and Papa. I love a five year old mind. :)

I am excited about re-doing the mortgage website even though the job is big enough that it has to be done in shifts.

James, I bet you had fun. Next time should we coordinate vacations with flu so someone is here to protect and defend AR from the nut?

Nutsy, Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Susan, Yes, mange has finally conquered Nutsy's brain so he won't be around much longer. Boss will eventually agree it was for the best.

Dear Mrs Kate,

Thank you so much for the continued support. I am on a holiday with the boss and we are staying in a room over a bar at Salt Spring Island in BC. We are very happy and drinking and very happy. It is good to be happy and drinking. I am very popular in the bar, everyone is very impressed and cousin Whatloaf is in the kareeeokee compostiton.

Nutsy, Since you like to be all shook up, may I suggest a cement mixer? That's where squirrels go to meet friends.

I've been out for a while due to business, and lo, when I come back, one of the first posts I see is from the Canadian tourist, who then asked me whether you'd be joining us (!) :)  So, I weigh in with the tidbit that tree rats sit on posts (and sometimes get electrocuted on them if they are the property of the power company)... maybe Nutsy has gotten confused?

Good to know you're OK, too, Ms Kate... and you drive me to look at the new W3 requirements to see what I have to fix legacy-wise <groan>

Shoshana, I'm happy to know you have been out on business and not down with the flu!

So you think Nutsy needs a nice jolt do you?

Have you been hearing much about tables vs the box model? After I finish my current project, I will redo my real estate article site to replace each table with a div. That will be relatively quick compared to redesigning the mortgage site. If only I knew then what I know now... :)

Thank goodness I switched to div a while ago, in my last update... I've never liked tables because of cross-platform issues (and designing for non-U.S. viewers). But I have stuff -- simple, mind you -- that still uses code from 1997 (!). I've just been avoiding have to clean it up :}

I am eliminating tables cold-turkey in honor of Thanksgiving! You are right. Clean-up is time consuming. I am trying to be very careful to avoid it again but I don't know if that is ever entirely possible.
