signs

Do you know agents who try and do the very least to get by?  Who don't invest in their own business? Who don't realize they have their own business? Who like to ride on the coattails of others hard work?

When we have an open house we utilize our professionally personalized signs with our names and phone numbers on all our directional signs.  We place the directional's up early in the day to receive maximum exposure and place them in MANY strategic places making it easy to find our open houses (like Hansel & Gretel dropping their crumbs to grandmother's house).

I see many competing agents holding open houses in the area on the same day just putting up one or two signs to lead the way to theirs because ours are already there and it's less work for them.  Of course if they are scheduled at different times and our signs are removed...no one can find their open house!  The public sees our signs up all day and thinks we are holding all the open houses.  It's all in perception!photo

Dorie:  What a cool picture.  Ditto ?  Uh huh... so many people are like that... but some don't even go THAT far.  I wonder what, if anything, goes through their minds ?

I will never understand why people do a job half way. You might as well not do it at all.

Love that picture! And, you are right, so many agents don't seem to realize they have an obligation to their sellers and themselves to give 100% effort. But, that makes the rest of us look even better.

Hi Toni,

You are soooo right! The agents who put forth the least amount of effort end up receiving the least amount of income.

I have a mission Statement that, in short. says "Giving 100% is the minimum required just to stay in business. That's why I give more...."

Sounds like we're on the same page here Dorie!

Hi Craig,

I'd like to think so..I've never understood just sliding by in this business..it's a full time education process!

I saw that picture somewhere last night and had a laugh...great way to work it in today! It's funny to do for Christmas lights, but true, there's a lot of people that will leech off of a dessert line by adding a piece of chocolate next to a freshly baked pie.

I love that quote by Craig!

Hi Dorie. The mark of the true professional is working smart and hard, and going the extra mile. You are obviously doing this very well compared to others.

Hi Gary,

Going the extra mile makes all the difference. It constantly amazes me the lack of diligence I see performed. It's not just in our industry..I see it in others..minimum effort..just enough to get by and then whine about how bad things are!
