Though shopping for as many options as possible is noble, in the end an "over-shopper" will invest too much time and energy in trying to place a loan. This is the first thing that I was taught when I was determining who I would send loans too.  One of my guys said that he wouldn't even respond to an LO that had sent a scenario to more than 5 lenders.  Choose a couple from each category and when you need a favor they will come through for you.
