Hemet, CA is located in Riverside County in Southern California - separated from the Palm Springs area by a simple mountain to the east. We are the western end of the region known as the Inland Empire - a region that has thrived in recent years with overflow populations moving east from Los Angeles and Orange counties and north from San Diego County.
Unfortunately, with the growth we have experienced, we have been subject to an enormous amount of real estate fraud. Just this morning, in my email I received notice that a local Inland Empire Mortgage Broker has finally been sentenced for his role in a massive real estate fraud scheme - that I ha sure has had ripple effects through the local economy and has disrupted many lives - many sad stories that will never be heard, but sad stories none the less.
There is a blog I subscribe The Mortgage Fraud Blog that keeps me informed of different occurrences around the country - it is amazing to me how much fraud has really been committed. I am still convinced that these criminals are directly responsible for a significant amount of the problems the market is experiencing today.
So pleas, if you are reading any of my material - never consider using it for the dark side. Real Estate is such a blessing to so many people - either as a career, an investment opportunity and most importantly a place to raise a healthy family. Don't ever forget that.
