Have you ever thought about how YouTube can promote you as well as your business?  It's really quite easy and the YouTube account is free.  With millions of people accessing and sharing videos via YouTube every month, you would be crazy not to consider using YouTube for promotional purposes.  Here are only a few of the ways you can use YouTube to promote you and your business:

1. Personal Virtual Tours - While a "professional" virtual tour is really not much more than a bunch of still photos put together and set to music, you can be your own virtual tour director by doing your own walkthrough of a listing, providing your own narration and pointing out the most interesting features of the property.  You can make the video as long as you want.  But, try to keep it under 10 minutes for the best impact.

2. Promotional Videos - If you have hired a "professional" to create a promotional video of you, your business or your community or you create one yourself, YouTube allows you to upload it to your account, where it will provide an embed code for you to use this video on your blog or website.

3. Company-Sponsored Events - Is your company sponsoring a local event?  You can create a video to promote the event before it happens and also use footage from the event to show website visitors or blog readers what your company is involved with.

4. Testimonials - When you have helped another family purchase their dream home, whip out that camera and make a video testimonial of the happy homeowners in front of their new home discussing how they feel about using your services.

Using video is a great way to capture the attention of your website or blog visitor, keeping them on your site longer to encourage them to check other parts of your site or blog out.  You can also promote your video on several directories to get even more exposure.  There are countless ways you can use YouTube to promote you and your business.  You are only limited by your imagination.  If you have any questions, please contact me.  I'm happy to help.

You did a good job on this presentation.  I have avoided the video, but I think I need to get with the program.

Hey Pam, right on, Video is currently what is separating the haves from the have nots. We will most likely see the increase of video over the next 1-5 years grow exponetially. Better to be on the front end then trying to play catch up.

For everyone else out there. JUST DO IT. Don't wait for it to be perfect or this and that, just do it.

Keep rockin the video's Pam you can go check out my video blog to see what I am doing if you like it is over at askchris.ca see what you think I will check out more of what you are doing with video too.

Cheers!

Hi Guy - Be brave, little soldier.  It's not as difficult as you may think.  It's actually quite easy.  Great results, too.

WOW, Chris!  Love the intro.  It sure got my attention.  Time is the only enemy when putting together a video.

Hi Pam,

I've been camera-shy in the past, but can see that the video really makes a client feel at ease, like they've met you in person.  It's like old-school face-to-face in a digital world.  Please advise- did you use a regular ball-cam mounted to the top of you screen?  What did you use for microphone?

Pam,

This is such an important part of 21st century marketing I am going to feature it in Cosmic Cow Pie.  I would also like to share the power of the $150.00 filp cam... it helps you get on youtube in a nano second... shoot.. connect to your computer.. upload to youtube.. and post to facebook your activerain blog or posterous... take it with you to have happy clients share their moments... fits in the purse or briefcase.  A video section of referrals on your website even from other Realtors gives an agent a huge edge!  Thanks again Pam for keeping up and sharing all the tools we need to succeed.

Hi Gina - It's all about building trusting relationships nowadays.  To create my video, I used a Logitech QuickCam that is mounted on the top of my computer screen.  The microphone is in the cam.

Hi Carra - A flip-cam is definitely on my Christmas list.  Loved the phone you used at the Active Rain seminar, too.  When I get ready to upgrade, I'll give you a call.

Hi Leah  - A Flip Camera is on my Christmas wish list.  Carra Riley who wrote Cosmic Cow Pie is whizz at this.  We were at an Active Rain seminar in Phoenix a couple of months ago and Carra did interviews and uploaded them into her Facebook account in a matter of minutes.  She used her phone - but the concept is the same.

Even though I have a YouTube account, I have not tried making a video.  Seems a bit scary to me.  Maybe it's time to give it a try.

Hi Irene - I think it was Dracula who said, "Don't be afraid".  I've made it a 2010 goal to put more videos on YouTube as well as my website, blogs and other social media.  I'll let you know how it goes.
