Active Rain Featured in the North Carolina Association of Realtors® Insight Magazine

Active RainBarbara West, Assistant Editor of the North Carolina Association of Realtors® Insight magazine featured three of Active Rain's NC agents in their most recent edition!  "Active Rain is a True Real Estate Community" featured your own Leesa Finley, Diane Aurit and myself--all of which expressed our passion for the Rain and how beneficial it is to our business.

Why do we blog?Leesa, from Wake Forest, recently received a phone call from an excited buyer, proclaiming "I hear you're the Wake Forset specialist."  Leesa knew right away that she had been discovered by this potential buyer, none other than, right here in the Rain!

Leesa & I reviewed the benefits of Active Rain's incredible search engine optimization and the reason behind this phoenomenon!  Leesa is excited that she can post a blog and have it found by the search engines within 15 minutes!

Diane, from Lake Norman, shared the networking / problem solving capabilities of agent-to-agent posts (members only) and the benefits of having this network available to us.  In our business, this is very important!  One example that I can share is reading Katerina Gasset & Broker Bryant's posts on short sales, thinking a couple of years ago that short sales would never see the light of day in North Carolina!  Well, was I ever wrong!  For the past year, I've been using Active Rain as my primary source for learning short sales and networking with other agents who specialize in them.  What a relief it has been to have the power of this network behind every aspect of a short sale for me and my team!

Benefits of Active Rain

I reviewed the Ambassador program with Ms. West and explained how we're here to teach new menbers and mentor them until they can 'fly alone!'  Barbara did join the network and found that the new member services were more than welcoming and that they were receptive and responsive to questions that new members have.  Her comment, "They want to help you!"  I just think that it's wonderful that this is the first impression that she got from her experience with Active Rain!  Of course, I would expect nothing less--the AR staff have always been incredibly responsive to me--even when I had the silliest of questions--they are so giving of themselves, their knowledge and their time!

That is what I LOVE about Active Rain!  Everyone WANTS to help make one another successful.  How exciting to have our favorite real estate forum featured in the North Carolina Association of Realtors® Insight magazine! Kudos to my NC buddies, Leesa & Diane--great interviews and awesome promotion of our favorite real estate network.   Hopefully we got the word out to other agents about the benefits of Active Rain!

Michael:  Thanks!  It SURELY has--not to mention the social media information that I've learned here and the friends I've made along the way--what a great place!

Don:  Isn't that awesome?!  We love the people with our association and to be able to help them with information that we're learning here, is refreshing to us.  What can you say about the people you meet here?!  After just coming off a REBar Camp (a.k.a. Active Rain Reunion!), I can say that the friendships I've developed here are as much a reason to 'hang around' as any business gained from it.

Debe,

How awesome is that!  You have always been an ambassador for Active Rain...even before there was such a thing...and how much better are we as a community for it!

OK...so have you written a blog on how you did those great graphics?  If not....hmmmm....we would love to see it!

I had to come back and edit to add...I think you are still doing these with one hand tied behind your back?  You make these really hard things look sooo easy....BTW ~ Hope you are feeling better!

Congratulations Debe!  It's great that you, Leesa and Diane were all recognized.  I've read Diane and your posts for quite some time, since I once lived in NC for a few years.  I'll have to add Leesa to the list now.  But it's even better that the Rain is being recognized more broadly... first NC... next, the world!  You're a great "Ambassador."

Hi Debe,

I logged into AR purposely to congratulate you on the Insight article and found you already posted about it!

Congratulations!!!

PS- I apologize for referring those buyers to Edna who pulled that stunt. I have been hearing that alot lately...buyers going straight to the listing agent, bypassing the buyers agent. I hope this does not become a trend.

Hi Debe -- Anything to spread the wealth will only make the platform even stronger, and I'm glad others are getting around to making it happen and the three of you and others do a lot to promote this platform in such a positive way.  Kudos!

Gabe:  Ahh!  Thank you so much!  I love the Rain and love sharing my passion for it with anyone who will listen!

Toula:  Thanks!  I was reading my magazine late last night and was so excited when I saw the Active Rain logo in the middle of the page!

Bill:  Thanks!  You know I can't put up a post without the graphics either!

Deb:  Well, thank you so much!  I really appreciate your kind words!

Dixie:  Thanks!  As I said, I'll tell anyone who will listen about this wonderful site, every chance I get!

Gary:  Thanks--and isn't is awesome that we're gaining so well in this market?!

Barb:  Thanks!  We all love the Rain!

Lori:  Ahh--I'm blushing!  And, no, I've been absolutely SLAMMED with work this month!  I'm not complaining but, I can barely keep my head above water!  Those tutorials take me forever to post because I'm too much of a perfectionist--wish I wasn't some days, that's for sure!!

As for being 1-handed--One thing that I AM able to do now is type!  I just had one of my BEST days in rehab and am able to touch my forehead now--that is HUGE progress!  I will be feeling better when I can finally sleep lying down!  Thanks for asking too!

Ginger:  You'e too sweet too!  You know how I love the graphics!  As I said, I spend WAY too much time with them but, they're fun to do.

Mike:  Thanks!  I know, me too!  I wish I had started long before I did, that's for sure!

Carla:   Thanks so much!  Hey, you just can't shut me up about Active Rain!  LOL

Kathy:  Yes, I'm hoping it helped NC's membership on Active Rain!

Dawn:  I love sharing AR stories and when Barbara called, she couldn't shut me up!  LOL  It's a great place to share and learn.

Mama Liz:  Isn't it exciting?!  Thanks so much--Leesa and Diane did a great job with their interviews!  I'm so proud to be a part of this venue and none of us can say enough great things about it!

Marian:  Thanks to my fellow Carolina girl!  I use my puzzle for a variety of posts--filling in the pieces to make my point--it's a fun way to make your point!

James:  Thanks!  She wrote over a page on AR!  It was so exciting to see it in print!

Lana:  Thank you so much!  It was great to have AR featured in NC's REALTOR magazine!

Terrie:  Thanks from all of us!  We all LOVE AR!  You have a wonderful weekend as well!

Missy:  Thanks so much!  It was one of the easiest posts I've ever written--you know how much I LOVE ACTIVE RAIN!  LOL

Bill:  Thanks!  You'll love Leesa too--she's a HOOT!  She also does awesome Local posts and is definitely in touch with her market.

Patricia:  Well, thanks!  I hope it increases AR's NC memberships too!

Tony:  Hey Thanks!  Good REALTOR for reading your INSIGHT magazine!  LOL  As for the crazy buyers--I've never seen it work out that the buyers got a better deal--as a matter of fact, I've seen it cost them as much as tens of THOUSANDS of dollars doing that!  The listing agent REPRESENTS the SELLER!  What don't they understand about that?!

Lou:  Thanks so much!  It's the easiest job in the world for me!!

Lil Bro:  Thanks!  I was shocked to see it in print--I had almost forgotten about the interview and was just casually reading the magazine.  The Active Rain logo just jumped off of the page when I turned to it!  How exciting to have AR featured in NC's magazine!

Chris:  You're exactly right!  There's nothing negative about it, that's for SURE!  It's an easy platform to promote.

John:  Thanks and REALLY!  Barbara, one of the editors, has been on top of it for quite some time now!  I'm very fortunate to be in a state that encourages us to dive into social networking and blogging.

David:  Same here!  OH, Barbara has been on top of it for quite awhile.  I think we are so lucky to live in NC where they do get it as opposed to some that I've read about.  Some discourage this activity and I remember one lender who was made to quit blogging because of the 'liability!'  WHAT?!

Have a great weekend...
