I have been a part of the Assumption Church choir since 1990. My husband joined in 1991 and our daughter Erin joined pretty much the day she was born. At the time I had Erin I was a co-director with my good friend Laura Salasek, so Erin was at every rehearsal and of course, every Mass. By the time she was 2 years old she could sing the entire Gloria!

To say that these friends of mine are like a second family to me and mine would be an understatement. This group of people will do just about anything to help out a fellow member. We have shared births, deaths, marriages, and grandchildren , joy and sorrow.

I don't direct anymore unless the director needs me to but that is rare. Our director David Bird started out as our accompanist and has been our director for 2 years. Last night we surprised him with a birthday cake for his 60th! We love him dearly and feel so blessed to have him as the director of music ministry at our parish.

We rehearsed first, of course, and had cake afterwards.
