You probably caught this recent localism post I SOLD A PUDDLE WITH A BLADE OF GRASS IN IT , Now I always say I am The Real Deal and I always try to stay positive but this is ridiculous!
"I cannot believe it has come down to this." I received a call last night from a person who said "I want to sell and I need you to come right over and list my place."Well the call seemed pretty normal and I asked the seller a few questions just to get a better idea about the property. They gave me the address and I was so excited because it was in an area that I farm and the lowest priced home is around the $700,000 range. I went right to work on my presentation and my CMA. I figured that this could be another listing to add to my evergrowing inventory.
The next day I woke up and decided I would leave a little early just to get there on time. I drove up to the home and from the looks of the outside the property appeared to be in pristine condition. The owner came to the door to greet me and invited me inside. I then sat down with them and I told them that from what I have seen so far ...the property looked great. The seller then gave me a weired chuckle and they said "well seriously I would like to show you around now.
So I asked if I could start in the kitchen and the seller said "no lets go outside in the backyard." I said ok....maybe they had a great pool or an awesome lakeview they wanted to show me. Well there was only one problem...little did I know they took me over to their kids playground and said they were not looking to list their home for sale...they wanted to list their playground! Now folks I know I have been able to pull off some miracles but this was something I never had been asked to sell before. So now it comes down this ..."I have to take these types of listings now?" This will probably never sell. What comparables could I possibly find to figure out the right price?
I'm not sure if a Realtor is even allowed to collect a fee on a structure like this.
Obviously you figured this out to be a joke. But it goes to show you that I will try to sell anything that resembles Real Estate!
My motto is... if it can be sold please give me the opportunity to try and accomplish our goal.
