Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol in Gig Harbor!

Prize Patrol in Gig Harbor!Yesterday while taking advantage of the beautiful day to get some new photos, I started chatting with another "photographer" standing beside me.   We were down at the old ferry landing trying to get the perfect shot of a sailboat making its way across Gig Harbor Bay.

As it turns out, Andrew, the other photographer was visiting from New York and was here on a very special mission.  He and his associate, John were members of the Prize Patrol from Publisher's Clearing House and had come to Gig Harbor to award a prize to a local resident.  How cool is that!?

Now I'll admit, I've always been a tad skeptical about whether these prizes ever actually existed.  I'm pretty sure I'm not alone here....  But as I talked to Andrew and John, I learned a little about the various regional contests.  There are contests based on your first name, initials - all kinds of fun little things.   So they award many more prizes than just the big one in February.  Who knew?

To see a winner in Gig Harbor assured me that there indeed is a Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol.  In fact Andrew and John are headed to Seattle to award another prize today.

What a fun job that must be!

How cool is this?!  I've wondered myself if it was a legit contest or just a scam.  Really nice to know it's real, and how fun for you to see a part of it.

Sue:

That is very interesting. I was quite convinced that they were less than legimate.

Sue, How cool is that?  Not only did you run into them but you had the opportunity to have a conversation with the real Prize Patrol.  And shared the info with your AR pals.  Thanks!

I'm not surprised that they took a break to shoot some pictures in Gig Harbor.  Such a beautiful place -- and it looks like a nice day, too! What a fun experience!

That is cool. I always thought it was a once a year award for somebody else in some other town...I am right about somebody else!

I had some friends move to Gig Harbor a couple of years ago.  They keep asking me to visit and I need to.  I hear it is beautiful.

I was drawn to those wonderful photos ... I miss the Harbor! I used to live there. I used to be a homebuilder; started when Ed Aro was still early in his career at Windermere, and before his (now-ex) wife was even an agent!

How are things there? I managed to move before the toll bride opened, but I have been over it a few times since.

They were actually just in Clarksville, TN too.... They tried to deliver the winning check and the winner had actually moved away. They had to call her on the phone....  I too had always been skeptical of this.

I've sometimes wondered too.  Isn't it nice to know they reaally do exist.

And, yes, it would be a great job.  Giving away money! People would always be glad to have you ring the doorbell.

Well, you are renewing my faith in this...it was for years a huge temptation and then poo pooed...so there you go, more entries in the Publisher's Clearing House, when that envelope comes in the mail.  Really fun job.

Too bad they wouldn't let you tag along so you could write it up in localism for Gig Harbor.

How much is the check? I can't see the amount.  PCH keeps sending me stuff every day so maybe it's time to reply.  Who knows? In Greater Danbury CT http://TheBeninsonAssociates.com

NIce Article.  My sister just moved to gig harbor from Portland, and I fouond your blog on google.

I was hoping to find  a small office suite in seattle.  Do you have any advice on searching in Seattle.  I found a couple websites online, cityfeet.com and seattle office spaces?

Should i work with a broker or represent myself?

thanks

It was refreshing to find out that the contest is not a scam.  The Gig Harbor recipient received $5,000, the Seattle winner got $10,000.  Not sure how all those various contests work, but they sound fun.

Kyle:  The new bridge has made commuting a non-issue.  It's great!  Gig Harbor has grown up and we now have all the shopping we could want over here.  And a new state-of-the-art hospital as well.  So those of us who work on this side of the bridge don't pay the toll as often as we would have a couple of years ago.

Gina:  I'd try www.commercialmls.com but if you don't have any luck with that, let me know and I'll find you someone who can help.

Mark:  You need to visit!  But summer is better.....see you then!

I, too was on the Publishers Clearing House Prize patrol last week and awarded $10,000.00 to recipients in Monroe, Iowa; La Cygne, Kansas and Wichita, Kansas. We wanted people to know that real people get real money. We called them "Reality Checks"
