Our favorite place to eat in Murphy, NC is definitely the Italian Caffe & Deli. Piero (Peter) and his lovely wife, Pietra, are originally from Italy, but fortunately for us have settled down here in the Cherokee County, North Carolina Mountains. This is a family run business and their son-in-law, Jack, and their nephew, Marco also work here. You’ll always find their granddaughter, Jayden helping Pietra or her mom, Jackie, in the kitchen too - even though she’s only five. This is a true Italian family business.

Italian Cafe in Murphy, NC

This is the display case of the hand made fresh cakes, cheesecake, cannoli and tiramisu...makes your mouth water doesn't it? We always leave the Italian Caffe overly stuffed so we usually get a piece, or maybe two, to take home for the next night.

Everything is made fresh and the red sauce is the best! Their Lunch Buffet that changes daily, but always has a salad bar, soup, vegetable, potato, pasta, three meat dishes, three different pizzas, mini sandwiches and rolls. All that for $5.99… can you see why it’s so hard to go back to work after a lunch feast like this? You won’t find a better pizza anywhere either.

The hardest part, Renee, is picking out which desert to have. BBQ on these cool nights sure sounds and smells good too.

Hi Rebecca - Glad to hear you're getting your appetite back, but take it slow and don't over do it.

Lee and Carol, I would have a hard time choosing which dessert - they all look so good.  The lunch buffet sounds terrific! Aren't you the lucky ones to have Piero and Pietra settle down in Murphy!

Hi Lee & Carol:

I love sweets...cakes, pies, pastries...love them!

Thanks for the reminder that I was planning on baking a pumpkin pie today, from scratch....

I don't really have a true sweet tooth, which is why cannoli and tiramisu are two of my favorite desserts. Nothing like locally-owned family businesses!

Leilani - Come for a visit and we'll go together. Piero makes his own wine too.

Toula - Pumpkin Pie from scratch sounds perfect for this weather and season. Pietra makes all the deserts at the Italian Cafe from scratch too. So much work, but so worth it.

Lori - Tiramisu is one of mine too. Lee's is the Chocolate Ganache Cheesecake. Oh heck, they're all my favorites!

Diane - Yes, all the great food for the price you just can't beat. It's cheaper than going to any fast food and far better. The extra pounds I'm gaining is the only downfall!

Hi Rita and Irene. Thanks for stopping by and visiting the Italian Cafe. We are very fortunate to have this family Italian business in Murphy, NC. Always fresh and sooo good! All of the deserts are made fresh and are out of this world.
