Media Room After Staging - Leslie Olson Interiors, Marin Home Stager

Pictured above are photos from a 5,000 sq. ft. Vacant Home Staging project by Leslie Olson Interiors, based in Marin County, California.  While the dark olive paint in the empty room implied the function of a media room, by furnishing the space with a comfy, stylish and durable leather seating group facing a flat-screen TV, the guess-work is gone for future homebuyers.  By being able to actually see the scale and proportion of furnishings in the room, as well as keying into the spunky decor, they begin to imagine themselves living in the home.

Realtors -- which room would you prefer to show your clients, the cavernous vacant room, or the warm and inviting Media Room staged to sell?  Professional Home Staging is a small investment that can reap large rewards in quick and profitable home sales.

By the way, I'm currently updating the business web site to reflect the recent (very happy) move to California from Austin, and invite you to visit it at www.leslieolsoninteriors.com for more Before and After pictures -- there are many more photos of recent projects to come in the updated site!  The site features sections that describe my company's two divisions -- Residential Design, and Real Estate Home Staging.  Both sections have Portfolios with Before and After pictures

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Awesome job, Leslie!  I love this look.

And you're right - showing the room with furniture, especially with how you laid it out, would make for a far better showing.

Thanks for the nice comments, ladies!  Actually I can't take credit for the After photograph, Stephanie.  It was taken by Chris Dietz with Fizbin Photography.  It was a challenging picture, with dark walls and bright windows -- he was great to modify it to look so inviting!

Looks fabulous. I love how the red apples pick up the red in the artwork. Very inviting.

Leslie, It is wonderful to "see" you. I love your work and the photos. Good for you, have a photog if you can, I always say! Oh yeah, when I was in high school one of my buds was a model. She always refered to her photograper as her photog. Is that glamourous or what?

Thank you Rhonda and Yvonne!

After project after project of my blurred digital photos ("action-packed" is not an objective when taking Before and After pictures!) I did hire a photographer (or "photog," Yvonne) for this project, and I'm pleased that I did.  In the mean time I'm practicing my own photographic skills -- tripod, anyone? -- and hope to improve over time. It also helps to learn how to modify pictures with software after the fact.  Thanks for the comments!
