Free open Source Application that enlarges small images

Recently, a new tool became available that enlarge small images.  You can take small camera phone images and enhance the image so that it can be printed.  PC World claims that the algorithm does a remarkable job on very small bitmap images.  It turns the image into a somewhat blurry snapshot.  The application does nothing else, but if the need arises it can fill the need.

Joan,

The images I saw are definately blurry but not blocky looking.  A big improvement.

It doesn't sound to me as if it does a lot. If the image is blurry it still may not be usable. Best to kust take bigger photos (I learned that the hard way).

I agree that when you can take large pictures you are better off doing so.  It is hard to enhance something that isn't there.  This application seems to enhance smaller pictures and sections to make them less blocky.  It might come in handy for some situations.  Just a nothing tool in the box.
