If you ever would need - not sure why - to get a Finnish drivers license, or happen to drive in Finland here is a quick crash course test to see if you can pass and decipher some of the Finnish traffic signs.

Just to confuse things a little I have added some commentary - you can decide to believe them or not!

DID YOU THINK YOU PASSED?

For those that may not know - I grew up in Finland. My home town is in Northern Finland above the Arctic Circle, where we have more reindeer than people (so we say).

Rita- I never even paid attention to the fact that Finland is above the Arctic Circle. I will have to go and look at my globe now and show Tristan. Geography and history and science are his favorite subjects. I love Geography too. Oh, I started laughing at the one where you said the guy looks like he has to go! Katerina

Rita - I know some of them, but the rest??? I had no idea you were from Finland. My mother's side of the family is Swedish (primarily Stockholm) and there are some wild Norwegians back in the ancestry too.

I have problems with roadway signs here, and you expect me to do Finnish signs? I did get a kick out of #3.

Most of Finland is below the Arctic Circle. My home town and the rest of Lapland as we call it is above.
