Colorado Springs Gardening Class Series

Gardening and wintertime don't initially seem to be two topics that would go together. In this case it is the perfect compliment.

There is a year-long series of classes offered by the Pikes Peak Urban Gardens that is ideal for beginners and seasoned

veterans alike because whether you have never had a garden and don't know where to start or want to take your gardening to a new level there is

a class for you.

If creating a garden or looking for ideas on what to plant and being able to grow and eat your own veggies is something you have dreamed of come on over.

The cost of the class is free if you pledge to grow or are presently are growing a vegetable garden.

The Backyard Garden class series offers its next class on January 9th. Topics for the class include varieties of veggies that grow well in the

Pikes Peak Region, where to purchase, plotting out your own garden, spacing and planting timelines.

 

If this is your first time to attend please come to the 1:00 class (there are three classes offered that day).

The class will be held at The Holy Theophany Orthodox Church (gold dome top) , New Fellowship Hall. 2770 N. Chestnut St., Colorado Springs.

Pikes Peak Urban Gardens is an incredibly special non-profit whose mission is to cultivate community through organic gardening and sustainable

Current Projects of PPUG include: Community Gardens, Small-Urban Farms, Demonstration Edible Gardens and Educational Outreach.

There are also a variety of ways to support the PPUG including becoming a member, buying fair-trade coffee, buying seeds, donating materials,
