New Great Macaroni & Cheese Bake-Off Logo

Congratulations Todd Sneed!

First there were many, then there were four and now, only one can claim the title of WINNER. The new Great Macaroni & Cheese Bake-Off logo has been chosen and the winner is...Todd Sneed from Mt. Morris, Michigan!

The Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula (WOMP) asked the community to contribute logo designs for one of northern Michigan's most popular events: The Great Macaroni & Cheese Bake-Off hosted annually on the Saturday following Thanksgiving. The group then narrowed it down to the top four logo designs and asked the attendees at the Old Mission Peninsula Wine & Food Celebration to vote for their favorite logo.

The more than 20 logo designs submitted provided a high level of competition, making the process of selecting the finalists all the more difficult for the wineries.

"We received so many great logo entries that we had to narrow the field down to four instead of three," said John Kroupa, marketing chair for the WOMP and owner of Peninsula Cellars. "The Mac & Cheese event is very interactive and allows visitors to vote for their favorite food and wine so it seemed only natural to allow the community to vote for their favorite logo too."

WOMP has awarded Sneed with a $100 northern Michigan restaurant gift certificate for contributing his winning design, plus two free tickets to the event. He and his logo design will be featured on 2009 Macaroni & Cheese Bake-Off event materials.

The spherical logo displays rays of sun with a ‘macaroni' font and fun, vibrant orange and yellow colors to represent cheese.

"We'll modify the logo a bit so that it will transfer well onto wine glasses and other materials, but we'll keep the main design elements to stay true to the artist," said Kroupa.

The 2009 Macaroni & Cheese Bake-Off is scheduled for Saturday, November 28 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tickets for this sell-out event go on sale October 21 at www.chateauchantal.com, all seven WOMP member wineries and the Traverse City Convention and Visitors Bureau.
