SO YOU HAVE A "FACEBOOK FAN PAGE"... NOW YOU NEED SOME FANS!

By
Real Estate Agent with Bradenton-Homes, Experts - Keller Williams Realty

Many of us read John Novak's post this week on "Facebook Fan Page Basics" and heard the call to action to either create a page or to develop the pages that we already have.

Among some of the many comments made on John's post was:

"How do I get fans for my FACEBOOK fan page?"

Great question... with lots of answers and strategies.  Here are a few tips that have worked for.....

THE SERENA GROUP    THE SERENA GROUP'S ......FAN PAGE!

STICK MAN

  • Send out an invitation from your page to all your FACEBOOK Friends to "fan" your page.  Ask some of your friends to do the same.
  • Join groups in Facebook and post information on the group page adding a link to your fan page at the bottom of your post.
  • Send a link to your fan page with all of your email blasts to your database with the phrase: "FIND US ON FACEBOOK!"
  • Add a "FACEBOOK Widget" to your Active Rain blog and/or any other blog's sidebar that links back to your FACEBOOK Fan Page
  • Add a link to your fan page to the end of your email signature
  • Add the "URL" to your fan page to all of your print advertising
  • Put a "FIND US ON FACEBOOK" widget or link to the home page of your website
  • Do a "paid" ad through FACEBOOK advertising
  • Make sure to put a link to your fan page on every profile that you have on the Internet... for example:  Linkedin, MySpace, Yahoo, Google, etc.
  • When you get a "new friend" on FACEBOOK, go to their wall and do a "thanks for friending me" post with a link and request to visit your page.
  • Find local business profiles on FACEBOOK and post to their wall with a link to your fan page.
  • Do a special "FIND US ON FACEBOOK!" email blast, initially when creating your fan page to unveil it to your sphere of influence and your database.
  • Add a link to your fan page to your newsletter and enewsletters.

After you have 25 fans, you can create a "custom or vanity URL" for your fan page here: VANITY URL FOR FACEBOOK FAN PAGE.     A "custom FACEBOOK URL" should be "keyword" specific to your business and is more memorable because of the customization... making it easier to share!

Once you have a "custom FACEBOOK URL" ... you can;

  • Have it printed on your business cards
  • Print it on all your property flyers
  • Make sure to add "FIND US ON FACEBOOK" to your phone scripts and give the "custom URL" verbally.

These a a few  of our ideas of ways to generate interest and attract fans to your FACEBOOK FAN PAGES ...

Now....What have you got?  BRING IT... SHARE WITH ALL OF US ON ACTIVE RAIN!  SMILEY

Asking your friends to become fans really is quite successful. I haven't tried the paid ads yet, but I'm going that direction.

Good ideas, Wendy, to integrate Facebook with all of your other online and offline marketing efforts. I have a couple of other ideas I'm thinking through to help Rainers quickly build their fan bases. Should be started with this later in the week.

Hi Eva!  How are you doing building your Fan Page "fan base?"

Andrew, Have you gotten started with your "Fan Page" yet?  If not, put it on your list of goals for 2010!

Hi Jesse!

Go to your Fan Page.  Under the photo you'll see "Edit Page" click on that link.  It will take you to a page with your applications & settings.  To the right you'll see "Promote your page" and in the list "Promote with a Fan Box."  Click on that link.  It will take you to a "Fan Box Widget" page.  You can create either a "badge" or a "Fan Box"... you choose, then "Choose where to add the widget" and choose "Other."  This will give you a block of "code."  Copy the code, then go to your blog "settings" on your Active Rain profile.  and paste  the code that you copied into your blog "Settings" box and save your settings.  This should place your fan box on your Active Rain Blog side bar.

Good luck, Jesse...
