25 Comments on Fence to Nowhere........................
Do they run cattle in those parts? Every time a fence like that goes up in our neck of the woods, the locals say; "They must be from California"
I didn't see any cattle, just sagebrush!
What a perfect title for that photo, Tony & Darcy! :)

When I first came to San Diego, I immediately noticed all the fences going up steep hillsides and down into lonely valleys. I always wondered the same thing: "Why put up a fence way out here in the middle of nowhere?"
Tony and Darcy - perhaps cattle barons at work ... don't rancers fence in vast tracts of land
What a beautiful picture. Thanks for sharing.
Toni
Looks like someone wanted to declare their boundaries or lease lands OR keep their cattle in... Love that scenary.
Gee, I am surprised to see the "wide open spaces" have fences :)
Tony and Darcy,
I love the shot... Fence to nowhere....

Leilani: Thanks!
Russel: I wonder that myself, we have a lot of fences that are just there, I seldom see any livestock inside or outside of several of them.
Kathy: I suppose that the ranchers do things like that!
Toni: thanks for commenting!
Judi: It is probably one or the other, we didn't notice any livestock, but that doesn't mean that there hasn't been any there in the past.
Karen: I mention to Russel that we have a lot of places that have fences and I don't see why.
Ann: Thanks!
I'm sure the fence was for cows, but it doesn't look like they have been around much lately.
You are the best and I appreciate your comments!
Tony and Darcy
I could follow a fence line like that forever.
Elizabeth: you're probably right, but it has been awhile since there were cows there.
Janet: Thanks!
Tom: Better take some water! It is beautiful!
Tony & Darcy - It is quite amazing what a title will do for a photograph, create some great comments and a feature at one of my favorite groups at Activerain .............

Reminds me of why I love to take that drive from California to Louisiana and back again. I love seeing the open fields, weeds, mountain and highway. Thanks for sharing.

Great picture you two! It looks so peaceful...a little desolate, but so nice! Have a great weekend!
