Are You Sick in Real Estate?

Let me assure you that the title of this post does not include any typos. I am not curious if anyone is sick OF real estate, but rather if any of you have ever been really sick IN real estate.  Let me give you an example.

I woke up two nights ago feeling like I had been gargling Drano.  My throat was so sore that I was afraid to look in the mirror for fear of seeing my spine through the dissolved void that once was my adam's apple.  I was convinced that someone had slipped sulfuric acid into my dinner.  It got to the point where breathing was so painful that I decided to stop doing it.  That must have worked out because I woke up several hours later with no recollection of falling asleep.

Unfortunately this only made matters worse.  Now the virus had advanced its attack on my body and had moved troops into my nose.  Not only was lava draining down my throat but now snot was draining out my nose.  I felt like one of those rain bird sprinklers.  I probably lost about ten pounds in water weight alone in that first few hours of wakefulness.  It wasn't a pretty sight.  I was actually bit by a mosquito later that evening that instantly went into convulsions and died...not a good sign.

The next day I was convinced that things couldn't get any worse.  It is funny how the minute that you think that, it immediately DOES get worse.  No sooner had that thought crossed my mind than I had occasion to become intimately familiar with my toilet.  The beauty of porcelain can only be truly appreciated when you are staring at it through what was at one point a meal of some sort.  I spent the next few hours vomiting like it was a hobby of mine.  Or maybe more of a profession, because after that much time you begin to develop a real talent for it.

By the time that was over I had made several offerings to the porcelain god and had mapped out every detail of the toilet bowl.  I was on my way toward losing half of my body weight and discovering an affinity for cartography.

That may have been the first time that I was ever grateful for a showing cancellation.  I can only imagine what those poor people would have thought had they seen me in that state!  If I looked as good as I felt, then it must've been really bad...

So how does this relate to real estate?  I have no idea.  I just wanted to share my recent misery with all of you healthy people out there!  For any of you who have ever been slapped by the sick stick in the middle of a busy work week, I am sure you can sympathize with me.  For all of those who would rather not experience that joy, please don't breathe around me when I cough!  If any of you can top this story, then I will be forced to bring out the big guns and tell you about the time I almost died from viral meningitis!  I am sure you will get a good laugh out of it...you sicko!
