More Thoughts On the Local Parade

By

I wrote a post a while back that consistently recieves comments, which was

Ideas for parade giveaways???

So while responding to a few more comments today, I began to think, ponder, and wonder.

Out of curiousity, how many of you have YOUR OWN float?

When I say YOUR OWN, I mean all by yourself, no other agents.

Or is it usually your entire office that does it?

And if so, do you each do your own giveaway, or is it done as a group?

I'm wondering if I should do my own float next year.  Perhaps something not huge, but still memory making...

What does everyone else think?  I would love to hear what you do at your parades!

Joslyn--Jeff Joyer does a float in the Forest Lake parade with a little playhouse and for sale sign. He and his daughter/partner Christy are on the float with all the family. It is really fun...4th of July, 10 AM Forest Lake....Too many people to do handouts hear but soft balls or frisbees are fun. Balloons and flags are popular too.

Hi Jos,

You don't need a float. You could just rent a convertible or something and slap your name on the side of the car so people remember you. Remember to market yourself not your company. People want to work with you because of who you are. They don't really care all that much about your company.

Teri - That's cool!  Perhaps I should go down there!  We have the same kind of float for our company - a playhouse on a trailer, and the kids from the office here ride in it.  It's super cute, and people love it.

I'm just looking for a way, like Shawn said, to market MYSELF.

Shawn, can I borrow your Impala?  That's pretty pimp.

We have always done an office float. There are a handful of us agents that have been around where people do know our names. We think people DO CARE about the company as well. Although it is the agent that the client has to connect with.....most people want the company name as well. RE/MAX is the leader in Market Share (in the Chicago-land area). 10% more than the 2nd company in line. Company name and rep does play a part in peoples decision! At least in the Chicago-land area! We have said this over and over again....With your enthusiasum Joslyn.....you will always stand out in your office and people WILL remember you and your name whether you do an individual float or an office float!

Rick and Lynn - Thanks!  I'm just trying to help the process along, so that it comes a little more quickly....
