PICKING UP FOR THE GOOD OF ALL!

A very good friend of mine (a Mortgage guy) here in Raleigh and I are about to begin a campaign that will include direct mail marketing AND a way to give back. Give Back? Yes, give back to the community that gives to me each and every day. You see, we are going to ask our farm to go to my website and sign up for us to come by their front porch to pick up coats and jackets for the needy this coming winter. Our thought is that why wait until it's cold to get jackets? It's too late then. Let's clean out those closets now and be prepared for the upcoming winter months.

Are we doing this because I am a real estate agent and want business? No. We are doing this because I am a real estate agent and human. We all have needs. Some people need to stay warm this winter. I can help.

Excellent idea Peter, and should be " warmly " received by those in need. This type of Realtor involvement is a terrific example of how we all can get involved and help the communities we serve. Please let us know how well people respond to the website signup. This also drives traffic to your site and no doubt will be remembered by those supporting the effort.

Peter, it's a wonderful thing to do. Ilove starting campaigns, even if they are small; helping some people is better then helping none at all. I recently met a woman at the train station and we started speaking. She does a drive for brand new baby blankets to send to the poor and underprivileged. It's small but growing and I'm going to try and help her. Lovely post!

Excellent, excellent, excellent! And so good of you to start now when people are probably cleaning out those closets and getting rid of the old coats!
