Tracy

I recently received my SRES(seniors designation) and have started working with many seniors moving to this area.

There are a lot of seniors that have heard about the low cost of living that also want to be in a city(or at least one that's not too rural) that are migrating to this area.  We are seeing a huge influx of people from Florida that are called halfbacks-they move halfway back to New York ;

So I would say it's becoming a niche...

Glenn-to add to my last point:

There aren't many choices yet in this area for seniors but the builders/developers recognize the need for more choices.  We are starting to see several new developments pop up like The Village of Avesboro in our area.  Other new areas include Searstone, Heritage Pines, Fearrington, Ivy Hall, and even a Del Webb community.

I like this area because it is closer for my frequent trips to Wilmington. Do you find one development more desirable for my age group than the other? Thank you for such detailed information.

Kelly,

Thanks for stopping by.

Del Webb..Location, location, location.  You're right in the heart of Cary. Close to the Arts in Chapel Hill and also 15 minutes from downtown.

The Village at Aversboro will also be a good location. Close to I-40 and in the heart of Garner.  Less amenities but low maintenence living.

Hi,

I'm from that state where people are half backs -- moving to where it is cooler and less crowded. I appreciate this information as I may need it some day, too.

It's going to be August before I know it and I'll be dreaming of living there myself!

DO YOU STILL ANTICIPATE THAT THE 2ND PHASE WILL BEGIN IN SPRING WITH HOUSING MARKET AS IT IS NOW.    WE HAVE THIS HOUSE AT E. ISLE TO SELL HALF BLOCK FROM OCEAN AND IF WILL SELL AS GREAT CONDITION AND THEN WE WILL FEEL MORE AT EASE TO START PROCESS.  DO NOT WANT TWO HOUSES AT OUR AGE AS HAVE BEEN THERE AND TOO TOO MUCH RESPONSIBLITY.  THANKS DORIS

THere are quite a few for sale now(13) in the community. Generally builders will stop building until they have sold their current inventory.  I suspect that will be the case for the Village at Aversboro.
