Wicked Words of Wisdom for the Holidays
Fatherhood - Pretending the present you love best is soap-on-a-rope ~ Bill Cosby
Tis the season and I've got my Avon catalog in my purse. Trying to figure out what everybody wants/needs is exhausting already. Black Friday at the mall looms a few days ahead. There's always gift cards, but they seem so impersonal. The really fun part of Christmas is just unwrapping and opening the gift someone thought you could use or wanted. Sometimes you get the weirdest things, like soap-on-a-rope or a silly lopsided purple -dotted ashtray when you don't even smoke . Remember it is from someone who loves us and took precious time out of their busy life to shop or create something just for us. And then looking them in the eye and saying "Thank You" and meaning it from the bottom of our heart. So when your feet hurt and you can't wrap another gift, remember: That's the reason we go through all this, for the ones we love. As Martha Stewart herself would say, "It's a good thing".
