Do you only post in Active Rain for the links?

I would be interested to hear how many of you are posting in Active Rain only to get the links to your website. Be honest, are you only posting for the links? I think the majority of the posts are done so for search engine purposes. With Google starting to take action against real estate websites who do excessive reciprocal linking I wonder if they will eventually devalue the links that come from social networks as well. Since the links can come with some valuable content I doubt Google would devalue them completely.

I'm surprised at how many agents above me on Google for my town key word search still have huge link farms.

I thought that there was a optimum number of links off a blog you should have.

I do not. I did in the beginning but then I started to get some really great ideas to expand my business. This became more than website linking for me very quickly. There are so many great groups that offer advise and suggestions.

I don't blog for the links, I know that I am being picked up by google but, I also know that I must work on my key words for better recognition

My initial thoughr when I stumbled upon ActiveRain was ree links.

After getting sucked into the addiction here, I really don't bother about links too much.

When I first got here, I didn't understand everything that Active Rain was. I figured it was a content heavy real estate directory. Now I know different and I really don't even post much. I just like to review the blogs and groups of interest to me.

I have been wonderfully surprised and am still learning all the aspects of Active Rain. I think once I get my site the way I want it, I will be on here daily just for the enjoyment of discussions, etc.

I post my blog and ActiveRain for my own enjoyment and benefit. I do link back to my page when it has something to do with me or more information on my website. There are those who put part of the blog here, and make you click for the rest of the story. I don't do that. But I'm not out for SEO either.
