I love POSTEROUS - I am not sure why - maybe because it has so many great possibilities.  I use it simply to show off the Central Oregon Views.  Posterous is so easy that it is almost scary - you can simply blog via email.  I am not blogging so much there but I am putting up photos as are many of our friends.  Now, I have a ton of things to do in a day, and for some reason I keep adding more to my plate and stretching myself too thing. BUT I love to share photos of Central Oregon, so what is a girl to do...

Then it hit me

Outlook

Has a Delayed Delivery Function.....

Last night I set up my Posterous posts for the next 30 days and it took me a total of about 40 minutes.  How cool is that - as long as I turn on my computer and open Outlook each day my posts will email out every day.

I use Outlook 2007 - and it is fairly easy follow these 6 steps

  1. Open an email
  2. Create the email like you normally would
  3. Click on the Options Ribbon
  4. Click on Delay Delivery and set your day and time
  5. Close the delay delivery window
  6. Click Send

When you go to close Outlook you will receive a message stating you have mail in your outbox that has not been sent.  It will ask you if you want to exit without sending simply click yes....

If you do not have a Posterous blog and want one - simply send a photo or your first post to post@posterous.com you will receive an email - follow the instructions and within 5 minutes you are up and running... have fun!!!!

I don't Posterous, but I have heard of it. This post sheds some light on the subject. Thank you.

I love Poserous.  I have been using it for a few weeks and have found it saves a lot of time and energy.  I know it can do lots more than what I am using it for but I am on Tech overload!

Thesa my friend, one more thing to put on my list of things I would like to do.  It sounds like a good winter project so I'm going to bookmark your blog for after the new year.

Vickie - check it out - you may like it

Bonnie - I hear you - I am not using it to it's fullest advantage and will not until I know it remains FREE - but.... I do love sharing my area via photos - and it is just one more place to be - using the delay email cuts down on my time.

Marchel - it is fun - not sure you have to wait - you can simply start it with an email - no need to do much more than fill out your profile

Dan - you are most welcom

Lana - thanks for stopping by

Hi Thesa,

Posterous was discussed at rebarcampsd last week. I sat in on two different sessions and learned different aspects in each. The most important (for me) was to use an address as a sub-domain from your main blog because of the Google juice. Because I wanted it done correctly I'm working with my tech support person on Monday. I wanted to have it done right from get go.

Yet tonight I learned something different from YOU, the fact that you can set these up 30 days in advance, I love it. THANKS A BUNCH!

Lynda - you can set them for years if you choose - I have not set mine to go to my domain - but from reading the instrustions I can move it.... I need to choose which domain I want to use... such a diverse area I work in has ended up creating multiple sites..... but it is fun regardless of how you do it...

I have so been "fighting" this - but it looks too fun and easy. I need easy right now! I am trying to concentrate on a few things and do them good.

Hey Hey Hey!

Thanks for the 2007 Lesson. Just nothing better than step by step ( and Numbered to boot). Gotta go now as it looks like I got another site to sign up on ( posterous-ly speaking )

Jo - I think you will find it fun - with all the hyper local stuff you do this is a great avenue to share it visually

This post is about getting us to try Posterous.

I guess that makes it Pre-Posterous.

Teresa, I love Posterous. It is fun and like you and many others I post things I am reading or seeing.

I love to scroll through my subscribers lists, no need to comment.

I like what you are doing...I'll have to check and see if mail has that option. Now I do have Entourage on my Mac, which is the Mac version of Office so I suppose I could go there and email from there.

You are briliant to think of this.

Thesa - I don't have a Posterous account yet. I will look into getting one and use outlok to delay the emails.

Hi Thesa - I'm working on implementing Posterous after seeing this session from Brad Carroll during the Virtual RE BarCamp. Great idea to use Outlook to feed your content throughout the month!
