Estero Dog ParkEstero Community Park and Recreation Center is the largest within the Lee County Parks and Recreation system.  The community center is located in Estero Florida on Corkscrew Road, midway between US 41 and Three Oaks Parkway.

The Estero Community Park encompasses 55 acres and houses2 bocce courts, 12 horseshoe pits, 3 sand volleyball courts, shelters of varying sizes, a children's play area, 4 lakes, a 5K cross country course, a tortoise preserve, an outdoor amphitheater along with a 40,000 sq/ft. recreation center and an off leash dog park.

Those of you who looking for a place to take man's best friend now have a brand new, safe and FREE facility to take the entire family (including Fido) for an afternoon of fun.  The dog area is located near the playground area on the east side of the complex.  There is ample parking, large trees for shade and a multi-gated entry and exit system to keep your four-legged loved one from sneaking through the gate and escaping.

Dogs are everywhere!  It's great just to be a spectator.

The date these photos were taken several cooperative dogs and their owns hammed for the photos.

Thank  you!  Please leave a comment if you've visited the site or you're the volunteer models at the park.

Estero Dog & His Loving Owners

Estero Dog Park Entrance

Estero Party Dog

There are tons of trees for shade and acres of land for your dog to run free at the Estero Community Dog Park.

A triple gated system provides security so your dog doesn't accidentally escape the Dog Park.

This little fella is en-route, unleashed, at lightening speed to get the ball his owners (under the tree) have thrown.

In addition to the off leash parks of Bonita Springs, there are more parks that dog owners can go as long as they keep their pooches on leashes:

  • Ten Mile Linear Park, a slender green space with a path, allows dogs on leashes. That means you can skate, run, walk or bicycle with your canine companion. Access the park at Daniels and Metro parkways. Or catch the greenway where it crosses Six Mile Cypress Parkway. (239)461-7400.
  • When Lee County Parks & Recreation takes over management of the Sanibel Causeway islands in the future, that popular area will be deemed a park where dogs are allowed on leashes.
  • Coconut Point Mall, located in Estero, is an open-air shopping center with water stations and oops areas for the special paws and claws shopper. Many of the stores and restaurants are pet friendly, however each shop has an individual pet policy. (239)992-9966 www.CoconutPointRetail.com

Most importantly:  Read and obey the rules of the Estero Community Dog Park!

There were several dogs there, just too far away.  I didn't go in the fenced area, I was wearing good shoes with pointy heals. :)  We have a dog beach and a mall that accepts dogs.  The links are above.  My dog wants nothing to do with the dog park and most especially dog beach.  I took him once and he thought it was a punishment.  It was all sandy and stuff, you know.  Gross.

I wish we had a dog park in my community.  I raise Goldent Retrievers and hear of all the fun our puppies have at the 'dog park'.  What about the un-spayed and un-neuterd rule - that keeps my dogs home.

Awww!  Those eyes!

Desiree, you should do a time share dog.  Go in parts with other people. It's a part time dog and you never have to kennel it.

I have a pipsqueek sissy dog that thinks he's a great dane.

The Murph and I went to a local park a couple weeks ago to take photos for a Localism post. He wasn't able to participate in the swimming because the lake's waves were higher than he is tall. There were lots of dogs - all with smiles - having a great deal of fun. Of course, those in the water were the goldens and labs.

Boo hoo Chris (: all of our dog parks here in Brevard County will most probably be closed down Sept. 30 due to the lame property tax cuts foisted upon our county.  I'm a partime dog park attendant and it is so much fun watching all those goofy dogs playing together.  Boo hoo!

My bulldog has never been to a dog park - I don't even know if he would know what to do.

My lhasa apso has been to one - she was scared to death... she hated every minute of it

I used to have a chocolate lab... she loved every minute of it.  her favorite was when there was still a dog beach here... at 12 years old she could still catch a frisbee!  I miss her

Chris -

That's fantastic!

I really miss having a dog - I know I'd spend a lot of time in that park.

I was going to suggest that you slip off the Choo's and take the mini-pin for a run, but you said that's a no go.

Don't tell me he's a mall dog!

No, he's a geriatric dog with 5 inch long legs.  He can't hang with Flo Jo.

IVE BEEN TO THE CAPE CORAL & NAPLES DOG PARKS, THERE IS NEVER A RULE THAT YOUR DOG HAS 2 BE "FIXED" THAT IS SO STUPID! IF THEY ARE HUMPING, THEN LEAVE. BUT I SHOULDNT HAVE 2 FIX MY DOG 4 HIM 2 PLAY! CAPE CORAL HAS A GATED AREA THAT IS SECURED WITH A CODE & CHECK ALL YOUR PAPERS UNLIKE ESTERO WHICH EVERY1 IS SAYING IS SO GREAT, ITS NOT! I JUST SPOKE TO THE PARK OFFICE & SAID IM COMMING ANYWAYS & SHE SAID "SOME1 MIGHT CALL THE PARK RANGER" I WILL TAKE MY CHANCES  4 SOME REASON I DONT FEEL AFRAID LOL... SORRY 4 THE COMPLAINING IM JUST A LIL UPSET ABOUT THAT. ANYWAYS I WAS WONDERING WHAT TIME EVERY1 GOES THERE WITH SMALL DOGS BECAUSE NO1 IS EVER IN THE 1 AT NAPLES. - MELANIE, MYSPACE.COM/THATSPOILEDBELLA
