I'm experiencing an strange dichotomy of seasons in my yard this morning. While out raking the leaves of autumn, I came across this Flying Saucers Morning Glory, that hasn't received the message that first frost cannot be far away. Even the Impatiens, seem resistant to give up the ghost while displaying their beauty. Come December, I expect all this to quickly change! I continue to hope they will linger a bit longer and delight my family from the dining room window on Thanksgiving Day!
I take pictures for the purpose of remembering fond times. I do not impose copyright restrictions on this photo, so you may feel free to use, or distribute as you wish. However, should you need a Real Estate Professional in the Greater Sacramento area, I hope that you will contact me by email or by visiting my website www.myrljeffcoat.com - Thank You!
My morning glories aren't growing, but I have this flowing plant in a basket that has pretty-much had leaves on it for 4 months ... and it is still holding on to some of them!
Myrl, tremendous photo, and Morning Glories, are some of my most favorite flowers.
Myrl
Our flowers are blooming like crazy and butterflies are everywhere right now and its Thanksgiving!
Myrl - I don't know much about your seasons in Sacramento, but we have had a mild wet summer and so far the same in the fall. Some flowers are trying to make one last effort to bloom before the frost shows up.
Great picture, keep them coming.
Lee and Carol - One of you can quote poetry and song:-)
Hannah - I expect they will be gone in two to three weeks.
Steve - I have those little inconsistencies in my yard too.
Gary - Morning Glories and Geraniums remind me of Mother's garden and childhood.
Trey - Our butterflies were going pretty strong a couple of weeks ago, but have disappeared now.
Larry - Your situation in Franklin Tennesee seems similar to our's.
Tony and Darcy - Thank you!
Nice photo. Wish we could still see green up here. However, we are all brown, rust and dead now. That's okay. When we see green again, we get all excited.....

Morning glories are pretty resilient. But very pretty photo, Myrl. My roses are still blooming. But everything else except for the mumms have pretty much kicked the bucket.
Myrl,
I saw some buds here today when I was raking leaves but no flowering plants. Enjoy them while they last and thanks for the pic.
Rich
Just a beautiful shot there, Myrl! I like the purple flower color with the beautiful green of the leaves and stem.
Hi Myrl, That plant not only doesn't show the vestiges of Fall but ir like like a Spring. I suppose the weather will change but that plant is so hearty, I expect it will flourish. We are supposed to have a wet winter and not as cold. I will believe that when I see it. A very nice photo indeed. I haven't used my camera much in the last 2 weeks. I think it is because I want a newer bigger model, any excuse will do I suppose, LOL.
Those are just as pretty as a picture! Snow is here today, it will be a while before anything is blooming in the garden!
Myrl - I love the way you captured the lighting in this photo. Let's hope they're stubborn and last a little while longer :-)
I like how the deeper purple within the morning glory forms a very slim "star". This is an exquisite flower and photo, Myrl !!!
We're like Don, brown, rust and (almost) dead. Actually I'm seeing a lot of gray in my photos these days too. But no snow yet!!! Lovely photo, as usual Myrl.
Myrl, I love morning glories! How nice to be looking through the posts I missed lately and see these beauties. This made my day!
Myrl,
Nice to find color still abounding in the fall - agreat surprise and very nice color. :)
Steve
Hi Myrl, These are really gorgeous, aren't they - with the vivid colors. Wow, how fortunate you are to still have them lingering in your yard at this time of year.
