I Want My Money Back

I just visited www.recovery.gov to see what's happening in my area. I followed the directions, and the first zipcode I entered showed that $19,050,046 dollars had been spent for 5 jobs, 19 million dollars or almost 4 million dollars per job.

Ok, these are the same people who promise to cut spending in the health care industry. You've got to be kidding. All governments are know for being very inefficient, and the bigger they are, the worse it gets.  Our only hope is to hire experienced managers and replaced our professional politicians.

Scary isn't it?  I am not sure I have much confidence in the decision makers currently!

There has been a lot of chatter about how inaccurate this site is. I know it cost 18 M to update it, and one Senator asked for a detailed report and it came back blanked out. Then she said it showed 5 jobs in the 83 District of her state and there was NO 83 District.

They have lost all credibility with me.

It matters to us as much as it matters to you.

How long can you employ 5 people with 19,000?  Does the site track where else the money was spent, ie. if the jobs were construction were materials costs and other contracts involved or are they talking purely labor costs?

Hmm in my home zip $498,203 for 2.4 jobs.   From look a little deeper at the data it seems the jobs are all temporary construction jobs for rehab work that is short term work

It is actually a pretty cool site, how deeply did you get into it.  Tennessee has only completed about 10%  of their jobs.  It looks like about 30% have not been started.  The amount you see is the total allotted, not necessarily how much has been spent to date.

Jeani - I guess this is what happens when we give liberals a blank check

Candice - I can only imagine where the money went.

Roland - did you check your zip codes?

Missy - They never really had any credibility with me. Remember the speach where all bills would be discussed in the open with c-span recording. no behind closed doors deals. That was the promise. It's a shame that Democrats don't understand that their party has been taken over by liberals.

Larry - 2 temporary jobs for $498,000. Wow, I'm impressed.

Mike - If Tennessee has only completed 10 percent, and only started 30 percent, then it's not a very effective stimulant. The point was to improve the job market quickly, not 4 or 5 years from now. I would have to say that this looks like a madoff scam, but on a much larger scale. I also doubt if anyone will get jail time. But they might get rich.

Michael - I wish i hadn't seen this site. Digging deeper, all I see are school grants and Government jobs. No wonder unemployment hasn't improved. I guess we don't really have any interest in improving the environment for businesses so that they might actually need to hire someone.

I'm having fun with the sitr now. One think I've noticed is that all of the money seems to be allocated toward more government jobs, with the exception of grants to universities. I don't see how this will stimulate the economy. The government doesn't produce anything. They just spend money very inefficiently.
