George R. Brown will be the site of feeding Houston's needy and hungry on Thanksgiving Day at 10am. Unfortunately, this year donations and volunteers support are down. This years 25,000 hungry people are expected, and as of now, there is not enough food for that many people, unless alot arrives before Thursday.
Families that are hurting because of the down economy will there as well, not just the homeless. Corpoate donations are down, also due to the economy.
Houston is a giving city, can you give your time or money to make someones Thanksgiving a full one?
The nonprofit City Wide Club is in need of donations for its Thanksgiving Day dinner downtown.
Where to take them: The City Wide Club's Community Center at 3229 Hadley
When: Donations will be accepted 10 a.m. to noon today and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
