The I-Phone is Here...Can You Say Hello?

By

Say hello to iPhone. Today. The Brand New iPhone is now available to be purchased.  They are calling this the new "Revolutionary Phone!"  Many Agents, Lenders, and Clients in my area are now considering this new "Realtool for Realty" for their business and personal use.  They have questions and are looking to me for some answers. I don't have any.....yet!!  :-(
Well, just what's here.

It is too new for me to provide enough detailed information regarding the technical aspects and applications of the iPhone.

Are you ready to make a purchase of the new iPhone by Apple?  If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts about how it might help or contribute to your success in business.  I have seen many of the iPhone commercials, read some reviews, and now I am looking for others thoughts and opinions.

My understanding is that AT&T has the exclusive on this phone - Details

For me, I think it is a very expensive product, and until I know more about it, it's features and benefits, and it's bugs or glitches,  I am going to hold off before I take that "Leap of Faith" forward.  Guess I am getting more conservative in my old age. LOL

If you or someone you know has, or is getting the new iPhone, please let me know your comments.  Before I say hello to Apple's new iPhone, I wanted to hear from you first!

Jeff- great comment.  It's evaluating your needs.  I can tell you're not a compulsive buyer like many of us...it's good to analyze your personal situation to determine if ANY tool is right for you.  Thanks

Ray- Mac and PC both have a place in my family.  All of us have the Ipod, that's 5 Ipods in one house.  My oldest son is purchasing a MAC laptop, and I wouldn't have a problem adding one of these to my blended MAC - PC family.  ( of course my comment here comes from my favorite PC )  :-)

Chuck- I agree that if you walk into a "software" store and look for MAC applications and software (including stores like BEST BUY), you'll find the selection very poor. Are you sure you don't own an Ipod?
If you do, then you already have bought an APPLE product.   :-O

Marlene - THANKS!!  I'm always accepting kind compliments on this Blog!!  :-)  This post is my attempt at helping you determine if this is a tool for you and your business or just personal use.  By gathering others data, information and experiences, combined with mine,  I hope it does help me to be your best "personal shopper" as you so kindly put it!

Galel - I appreciate your time and comment, I guess that is why they still make Volkswagens and Cadillacs, it's all about you, your preferences, likes and dislikes, thanks for reminding us of that.  I'm looking for information about personal use or experience with this phone.  Seeing how it was just released to the public 2 days ago, there's not much first hand info, I figure this post will be a good spot to fact find and help others determine if and when they want to get one......including me!! Check out some of the links in this post!

Absolutely - if there's one thing being a sole-provider realtor makes you it's NOT a compulsive buyer...

iPhone sounds very exciting. I just bought a new phone a couple weeks ago, so I don't think I'll have an iPhone anytime soon. However it sure would be cool to check out. I've only seen one out in public so far. It was actually at the beach. A 16(ish) old girl was walking down the beach in her bikini, with her iPhone. I found it a little funny.

Check with Jeff Turner, he bought one and did an AWESOME post on it.  Go to his blog and run back to last week I think it was.  Anyway, I don't have one yet and am taking his advice and not buying one yet!  I love my TREO 700P. Does it all for me.....well almost all!  :-)

I'll admit that I adore my iPhone. It's wonderful. I never leave the room, much less the HOUSE without it.

However, I must admit that it's not as business friendly as my old Treos were. I've found several shortcomings in the iPhone from a business perspective, but from an "all in one" perspective that leans more toward personal entertainment and communication over business applications -- the iPhone rocks!

I'm not as flipped out as most owners... but I do consider it "essential" for my own communications. It will be better, I think, when it's not quite so "new" and I can go through the checkout line at my local market without having a handful of people wanting to "see" it. The first couple of times I was asked a barrage of questions it was cool. I'm geeky enough to like it... but by the dozenth time, it was officially a drag.

Brad - the advertising was interesting but not motivating. Then I saw a friend's and was Wowed so I bought one, about a week ago. I blogged (yesterday?) about a $4,000,000 listing appointment I had on Friday and the conversation turned to the iPhone. When I took mine out of my purse, he grabbed it, turned it on, and showed his wife all the neat things it can do. If I get the listing, and sell it, I can buy several iPhones!

Also, maybe let us know what you like and don't like about the iPhone.  Always looking for good feedback for other readers. Thanks.
