I highly recommend any golfers out there to visit Hilton Head Island. My family & I just got back from a four day stay and I was amazed by the entire experience. We stayed at the Marriott Hilton Head resort, right on the beach. There were three pools, three jacuzzis and the ocean felt like bath water. The staff was unbelievable. From the valet parking to the front desk to the waitstaff in the restaurant and poolside - they were attentive, accomodating and professional. They put the hospitality in southern hospitality.
The island itself is breathtaking. It's like an entire team of landscape architects planned the whole island. There are miles of walking/biking paths that wind in and out of gorgeous forests.
I played a round of golf at the George Fazio course. I have to say that it was the nicest course I've ever played on. Again, the service was unparalleled, the course was challenging, but playable. My best hole was a bogey, but I was putting for two birdies - shows you how good my short game is.
And let me say this - the people in hospitality work hard! My hats off to all of them. They take care of all of us so that we can have a nice vacation, and the best do it with a smile.
