"Only in America" or Treasure Island

I am originally from Germany and came to the US 17 years ago. In my first year I was amazed, surprised and sometimes confused about all the differences between the US and Europe. By now I have gotten used to it but every now and then I see something that triggers the thought "Only in America" in this case Treasure Island

We had the annual Sand Sculptor contest last weekend and our normally just sandy beach here in Treasure Island turned into this festival site.

So, only in America will you find a portable ATM machine right on the beach in the sand.

Well, It sure beats walking up and down the beach with a metal sensor looking for lost coins, rings, etc. Americans lke "sure things."

I have a good client that's from Germany.

She enlighten me on some of the differences. I didn't know about the ATM's.

Maybe one day I will get to go visit Europe.

Heather, the European mindset is different, they hardly use credit cards or ATM machines, they usually go to the bank once or twice a month and take a cash out to live on. You don't really leave the house with out $80 or more in your pocket.

Mark, you have to go, so many things are different. Last night I had dinner with an American that lives in England for a year, she told me how everything was different. It was a good refresher for me.
