Bistro Capitol Hill Seattle Washington

Thomas Street Bistro, Seattle Washington

Bienvenue to the Thomas Street Bistro, established in 2007, this quaint and cozy dining room has found its niche here on Capitol Hill, in Seattle Washington. The owner, Adam Freeman, describes the atmosphere as homey; that is if you happen to come from Toulouse, France.

It’s a small Bistro, seating perhaps a dozen at a time. Many Seattle locals on Capitol Hill walk by its door every day, with barely a passer’s glance. Many others are drawn into the entrance, up the maroon painted stairs, and enter a dimly lit Wonderland. What calls these select few patrons in? Perhaps the twinkling Christmas lights, dangled above the large front windows. Some could be drawn in by the live jazz, emanating out from the Bistro, and into the cold quiet Seattle streets. Could it be the scent? Ah, the scents, all the fresh ingredients purchased that morning, melt together; birthing those tantalizing scents.

Whatever it may be that has drawn them to the Bistro, has kept them there. In Seattle Washington, Capitol Hill has always been known as the eccentric of all neighborhoods. The Bistro is a safe haven for locals, you feel welcome as the server pours your wine; some glasses in your party may not even match. Much like the spumoni color schemed walls surrounding you. This is home. Candlelight flickers, and tables from separate halves of the room converse. You cannot be alone when once you have entered the Bistro.

The Bistro features a full course set menu, typically beginning with the soup de jour, then an appetizer, the main course; your choice of approximately three options ranging from, pieces of browned chicken breast marinated in white chardonnay and   cooked with tomato sauce with garlic, and Italian herbs served with fresh vegetables, to the tender pieces of lamb cooked in eastern spices and topped with a garlic mint yogurt sauce, served with sautéed vegetables and a side of linguini, and of course, always a vegetarian option as well (the menu frequently changing). The food is purchased daily from the local markets, to ensure peak freshness. Remember to always leave room for the desert of the day. When you think your taste buds have reached full capacity, and your belly is bulging with delight, relax, enjoy a coffee, chat with the tables accompanying you, converse with Adam who always believes, the way to live is such; sit long, talk much, laugh often.  This is the Thomas Street Bistro motto.
