There will be a Holiday Food Box Hotline # (not yet available). Line will open for Thanksgiving food box requests on November 1, 2009. Line will close when they have reached their 100-box limit. ANGEL TREE - There will be tags on a tree with child's gender and age - sponsors will provide gifts to children. Information will be available at Family Services at 503-239-1264 by November 1st.
St. Andrews Community Center:
Will have both a food box program and an Adopt-A-Family program. Both programs are offered for families who have children in the home. Call 971-244-0339 now - intake is done over the phone; no need to come in. Parish boundaries are MLK Boulevard to NE 25th, Interstate 5 out to 25th (East/West boundaries), Killingsworth to Shaver (North/South) and Ainsworth to Mason (East of MLK), but they will be extending these boundaries a little to serve more people at Christmas.
SnowCap
SnowCap will be distributing 500 food boxes and toys to families living within their service area (East Multnomah County, east of 82nd). Beginning on November 9th, people should come into SnowCap to fill out an application. Bring proof of residence. SnowCap is located behind Rockwood United Methodist Church at 17805 SE Stark. Applications will be accepted until 500 applications have been filled. Applicants will receive details about pickup. Applications will be put through the

Community Cycling Center
Each December the Community Cycling Center provides 500 children with their first bicycles, new helmets, and basic safety education. The Drive is designed to benefit children ages 3-8 from low-income families. Children must be referred through a school, church or social service agency beginning on October 19, 2009. Compassion in Action will run October 26th to December 4th. CIACC is a volunteer-run organization that matches people in need with individuals, service organization, and companies who wish to help by providing families with a food box for the family and gifts for ages up to 18 years, depending on donors. Limited to families residing within Clackamas County.
People should contact their case worker or participating local social service organization. There is an application to fill out, which is available in County Social Services, Mental Health, Community Health, and Housing offices, as well as State Dept of Human Services.
