Food Box Programs:
Metro Church of Christ
There will be a Holiday Food Box Hotline # (not yet available). Line will open for Thanksgiving food box requests on November 1, 2009. Line will close when they have reached their 100-box limit. All messages left on the voice mail prior to those official opening dates may be erased. The line is for messages only. People must not call the church's phone number to request a box. Food boxes available ONLY for residences in far East County, roughly from 122nd Ave. to the Sandy River, specifically zip codes 97230, 97233, 97236, 97024, 97030, 97060, 97080.
Hot Meals:Thanksgiving meal will be served on Friday, Nov. 27th from 11:30am-1:30pm at 340 NW Glisan. Open to all.

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church
Dinner will be served on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, 2009 from 1-4pm, in the basement dining hall. Church is located at 7600 N. Hereford Ave., Portland. Wheelchair accessible.

Food boxes and toys for children will be provided for families in need. Intake will be done on three days in November: November 11th from 9am-5pm, November 12th from 2-7pm, and November 14th from 10am-2pm, at 5325 N. Williams Street, Portland. Must bring proof of address and ID for each person in the household. Must reside in one of the following zip codes: 97203, 97209 97210, 97211, 97212, 97213, 97217, 97218, 97220, 97227, 97231. When people sign up, they will be given information on when to return to pick up. Will have a food box program as well as toys for children. Serving Multnomah County residents east of 122nd Ave., with the following zip codes: 97004, 97009, 97010, 97011, 97013, 97015, 97022, 97023, 97024, 97027, 97030, 97042, 97045, 97055, 97060, 97080, 97230, 97233, 97236. Details available so far are for food box program - Come into office at 473 SE 194th Ave, Portland. They will be taking 50 applications per day, with a total of 400 or 500 planned. FOOD BOXES - Will be taking calls for signups for Christmas food boxes on November 1st. Call Family Services at 503-239-1264. They will contact callers at a later date with December pickup dates.
ADOPT-A-FAMILY - Families should inquire at child's school - schools will be handling signup of families for this program (a sponsor "adopts" a family and provides food and gifts - often includes clothing)
ANGEL TREE - There will be tags on a tree with child's gender and age - sponsors will provide gifts to children. Information will be available at Family Services at 503-239-1264 by November 1st.
St. Andrews Community Center:
Will have both a food box program and an Adopt-A-Family program. Both programs are offered for families who have children in the home. Call 971-244-0339 now - intake is done over the phone; no need to come in. Parish boundaries are MLK Boulevard to NE 25th, Interstate 5 out to 25th (East/West boundaries), Killingsworth to Shaver (North/South) and Ainsworth to Mason (East of MLK), but they will be extending these boundaries a little to serve more people at Christmas.
SnowCap
SnowCap will be distributing 500 food boxes and toys to families living within their service area (East Multnomah County, east of 82nd). Beginning on November 9th, people should come into SnowCap to fill out an application. Bring proof of residence. SnowCap is located behind Rockwood United Methodist Church at 17805 SE Stark. Applications will be accepted until 500 applications have been filled. Applicants will receive details about pickup. Applications will be put through the

Community Cycling Center
Each December the Community Cycling Center provides 500 children with their first bicycles, new helmets, and basic safety education. The Drive is designed to benefit children ages 3-8 from low-income families. Children must be referred through a school, church or social service agency beginning on October 19, 2009. Details will be provided at that time. If agency is not already a partner, they may apply on the Center's website.

Compassion In Action (CIACC)
Compassion in Action will run October 26th to December 4th. CIACC is a volunteer-run organization that matches people in need with individuals, service organization, and companies who wish to help by providing families with a food box for the family and gifts for ages up to 18 years, depending on donors. Limited to families residing within Clackamas County.
People should contact their case worker or participating local social service organization. There is an application to fill out, which is available in County Social Services, Mental Health, Community Health, and Housing offices, as well as State Dept of Human Services. Application is also available online at www.ciacc.org. People or organizations wishing to donate may also call 503-632-0562.

Will be sponsoring 1,500 families with children ages 0-12. Families can register at the Salvation Army on November 13th, 14th, and 21st.

Must bring the following documents: for each adult in household, either photo ID or proof of address; for each child in household, one of the following - birth certificate, school registration, report card, or social security card. For non-crisis assistance, call 1-866-861-6354. This line may open during the 1st week of November. Energy assistance applies to all heat fuels (electricity, gas, wood, oil, and propane).
