President Obama and his administration have shattered the glass
ceiling.
Spending a staggering $3.5 Trillion during his first year in office,
the administration far exceeded any other first-year president.
The above figure is based on year 2000 dollars.
Using that formula - Bush spent $1.8 Trillion in 2001 and Clinton spent
$1.6 Trillion in 1993.
I believe I once heard the President say He's just getting started.

Bob, since this seems to be the Confessional - as to party affiliation - if anyone cares I'm a Democrat. Have been all my life. I've had enough from both parties. Neither one is looking any more together than the other right now.
I have a son who is 32. I have always tried to instill in him the value of money and using it wisely. Don't spend yourself into debt you cannot pay off. Since my son has not been able to distinguish between Want and Need, and spends like there is a money tree, I must assume he is a Democrat.
We are in a pattern of unsustainable spending and not seeing results that would pay it back or boost our economy. The only back we are going to see is ours bent over under unbearable debt - barely able to pay back the interest let alone the principal.
About all we will have left is the CHANGE - in the piggy bank. Not the kind of change we were promised.

Bonnie, I too have democratic spending children. I finally cut them off. I might have to do that with the government too. I can't control the taxes in my pension, but I don't have to file on any further income. Whatever would they do if the population turned on them?

Bob, LOL never realized but you are right - the kids and the government will drain every dollar. Every time my son calls me (usually I call him) I know I'm about to feel the pinch. I certainly don't love him and less, but I do wish he'd tune into Dave Ramsey.
