Yesterday while the big bird was cooking, we went over to the National Museum of the Marine Corp.
The museum is located about 10 minutes from my relatives house in Stafford, off Jefferson Davis Highway. Wow what a fabulous museum.
I have a bunch of photos on flickr if you want to see a lot of them.
It is built like the flag raisers of the Iwo Jima.
I am so glad I took the time to visit the National Museum of the Marine Corp.
My husband was a Marine during the Viet Nam era. But, he played on the Marine Corp football team so didn't go to Viet Nam. His brother Mark was in Viet Nam.

It makes you so thankful to live in America and to have such a dedicated military to keep us safe and for Freedom and Liberty to be defended throughout the world.
The National Museum of the Marine Corp is located at
18900 Jefferson Davis Hwy.
Triangle, VA 22172

Missy - My father served in Vietnam with the Marines. He was a helicopter gunner. For years, he didn't talk much about it, but over the past few years, he's been visiting with his old buddies and telling me more and more stories. It's an amazing oral history that I've been learning. Recently, it was determined that he was exposed to Agent Orange during the war (they used to spray it from their helicopter - they didn't know what they were spraying). I (obviously) hope my dad's ok from the exposure (he's going in for a battery of tests), but it's been a fascinating story between us lately. Thanks for the blog about the Musuem.
