If you think your electric bill is too high, This is what I did and I am already benefiting from it.
I have a Sun Room on the back of my house. It is on the side the the sun rises. I ordered tint from Ebay. Good tint and not that expensive. I asked my best friend to help me and together we tinted all of the windows in that room. I then tinted the windows on that sie of the house. It is in the back so it doesn't look out of the ordinary. This helped to reduce the temperature . I can still slide the windows open. So, I have bright light when I want it.
My home is 20 years old. I checked the air handlers for the air conditioners(20 years old). The condensers outside (10 years) 10 seer. I got some estimates and had them replaced. Now I have new 13 seer units and I can tell a difference. They cool faster and they don't run as often. I reviewed my electric statement from last year almost $100.00 saving over last year.
I am not an air conditioning salesperson. I just can't see throwing away money.
