Less than 2 kids per household average...and you just listed a smasher size home with extra helping of everything.
One that is big enough

for three generations under one roof. Mom and dad out back in the first floor section..just like the Walton's TV show. And the hire hands sleep over the woodshed in the back shed chamber. You and the Mrs and all those kids around a 22 foot long Thanksgiving table.
Selling the big Maine home means pointing out how to convert to apartments, a bed and breakfast inn or using a good section for a home business and living combination.
But blaring eight bedrooms for a headline although pretty unique, can make folks reach for their wallets..worried about heating the ark..I mean place.
Promoting, selling, marketing
Maine large homes... plus size, queen sized
real estate. Takes ways to make the space a good thing in a Northern climate and to show further utility than the mild mannered Clark Kent 2-3 bedroom ranch offers. The big ones have so many features to point out, yesteryear charm, woodwork, stained glass, tin ceilings, butler's pantries, dumb waiters, etc.
Maine REALTOR Andrew Mooers
Hi Andrew - There's a cup for every saucer. I'm in a four-bedroom house without enough room - and it's just me. Eight bedrooms sounds sweet! I shut off the "extra" bedrooms in winter - helps keep the heat bill down.
